According to HMV Japan THE albums pretties/easy action to from THE inside ( last one) Will be released in paper jacket format the so called mini lp's. I have waited fotr this for years.

There are 4 albums that have already been released in SHM-CD format (but not in Mini LP jackets) but I've never seen anybody comment on the sound quality of them and whether they are remastered or use the original CD masterings.

I've been waiting for this for years too and now I know what will be my Christmas gift!

You mean they are releasing something expecting to make a profit? Shocking.
Better stop releasing ANYHTHING then! Or doing shows. Just in case they make money.

But that link has no information on these discs from what I can tell... it's just info about MiniLPs in general.

They are on the HMV Japan website but not with much info other than a release date of January 2012.

I said that link was for mini lp's in general and not about THE Coöp. Mini's as they are not released yet.
These mini's are mostly 100 % identical as the original albums so (i hope) with calender / panty's / dollar bill / thumb cover etc etc. I collected them for years and they are beautiful and yes expensive but also very limited.
If you think this is just à moneymaker than don't buy them but you will regret it later.
This year is THE best Cooper year for ages!!!!!!!

I sure will buy ( already pre- ordered ) them and my advice is : if you can BUY them.

My gut feeling is to wait for a European release of these... I can't imagine these being restricted to only Japan given the amount of effort these must have taken to produce

To the best of my knowledge ALL previous official mini LP Cds for other bands (and there have been hundreds now) have been Japanese only and not released elsewhere. Unless anyone knows differently.

25 quid a pop. Ouch! I'll be selective with the ones I get (Muscle of Love is a must buy for me as it is my favorite album).

I hope they sell well. But if they do not they often end up in FOPP stores. I bought a heap of Zappa ones in various FOPP stores around the UK for around a tenner each.

I'm excited about these. But I was enjoying the Audio Fidelity releases as well. Are any more Alice ones coming?

EDIT: They are Japanese only. The ones that FOPP get in are imports, with OBI strips etc.

Those are imported. The poster was expecting a European release, which isn`t normal as far as I can tell.
If Amazon "import" some from Japan, that isn`t the same as them being released in Europe.

As a longtime collector of Japanes mini-lp's (I have 3000 titles and boxes) I can tell you that if a title sells well in Japan it never reaches other countries officialy.
Only Universal keep re-releasing their titles over and over but this is WARNER and they almost never do a re-release.
Warner also never allows a thirth party to make a box for storage. So there is no hope for that.
I'm gonna make a box for it myself (I mean someone else is making it for me with my choosen design).

If a title is NOT selling well or they made too many the mini's will pop up at the Chinese/Korea market and sometimes in Europe or the US.

Further beware of counterfeits from countries like Russia and neighbours / China and neigbours.

I think these titles will sell very fast (special the gimmick ones) so make up your mind.

And the last one : don't be surprised as the release gets delayed or even cancelled. That happens a lot in Japan but lucky not often with Warner titles.
