Ouch! Sound like a mixed bag.

Fingers crossed for more Audio Fidelity discs in that case :)

It might be the Warner Bros. CD with EQ applied to it... or perhaps they just both used the same substandard tape copies.

Could be.I've read a few complaints about the EQ and that the bass on the albums is ruining them. I'm surprised there is no mastering credit anywhere on the packaging. Keep the packaging and put the Hoffman disc in it.

Well the rest of mine arrived today and I can say that GTH and l&w both sound way better than the warner ones that we already have. They even have little replica leaflets in them to join the AC fan club :)

Nice one Steven let me know what you think. I'm just listening to from the inside and it sounds amazing. Don't know how much you can trust the tracking website if it's the fedex one. I got my CDs yesterday morning but according to the tracking in fedex they are still in another city over 200 miles away :)

Just got them about an hr ago. Very nice on the packaging..been doing some side by side comparisons and yes these are much better I can hear more detail... I Never Wrote Those Songs I can hear stuff in the Remaster that I couldnt hardly hear in the original..Makes L&W much more enjoyable to listed to...Well now I got to purchase some more now I think From The Inside will be my next...

Would like to know how the new Japan remaster of WTMN stacks up against the WTMN remaster with the bonus tracks and also the same with BDB..

Wish they would go further and do FTF, SF, Zipper and DaDa

I think what I am going to do since Alice gets played alot I am going to put the remaster disc in the old original releases that way I can keep the new ones in like new condition.

I wish Warner would have done the box set with all the bonus tracks etc :(

Greetings,

I just received "From the Inside" SHM CD and all I can say is, "Wow!"

OK, well, maybe a little more than "wow!"

It sounds so amazing, I have a German import from the late 1990s and the vinyl...this sound just blows them both away.

Also, I purchased "Welcome 2 My Nightmare" on SHM.

The sound of the "regular" release is pretty darn good in my opinion, however, the SHM version sounds even better.

They are a little pricey, but well worth it.

Just copy them to CD-R. Problem solved.

Has anyone heard the "The Alice Cooper Show" SHM CD.?

I think all of the versions so far sound, "just ok" at best.

(Hmm, I've puchased the 8 Track version, the vinyl version, then cassette and CD over the years!)

I still love to listen to it though.

What I wouldn't do to hear a cleaned up, full show, version of this release!

From what I've heard, none of these sound especially great.

My go to discs are the Audio Fidelity 24k gold discs. Hope we see a few more of those eventually.

I have all the japanese ones and they all sound great. For me personally i much prefer how they sound as opposed to the gold versions. I would also love to see a full show version of the alice coooper show. I know a lot of people including Alice are not fond of that album but i absolutley love it.

I have all of these, I bought them with the Billion Dollar Babies and Welcome to My Nightmare boxes.

I don't understand the criticism of the sound quality, since these are easily the best I've ever heard this recordings. I can't even begin to compare to the Warner releases - the original releases were just so poor, imo.

On top of that, of course, you get the packaging - which is nothing short of amazing. There's nothing to fault once all is said and done.

I should also mention, I bought some cheaper ones from Eastern Europe - all fakes. They're bizarre in that the covers are reproduced perfectly - but the discs are the same old bog-standard copies. One of these has a fake "SHM" printed around the hub.

The best way to ensure you get the real deal is to buy directly from Japan.

These are pricey - but so so beautiful.

You may prefer the sound quality, but I've heard them for myself and they suffer due to the use of modern mastering techniques. The Audio Fidelity Gold CDs are superior.

On top of that, "Be My Lover" off KILLER has the same tape distortion at the 3 second mark as the original Warner Bros. CD has which makes the source of these remasters a bit dubious. The Audio Fidelity Gold CD does not have this distortion.

Now, if you're into them mostly for the packaging, it's superb.
