Re: Alice Cooper at the Whisky a Go Go--September 15th.
Pictures okay, absolutely no video so I suspect a DVD release at some point. Also someone saw one of the guests walking in but I don't know how people feel about spoilers so I won't mention who it was just yet.

I think if you write SPOILER very big and start then some lines below it will be ok.hallowedbemyname wrote:Pictures okay, absolutely no video so I suspect a DVD release at some point. I'm going to record it regardless, but hopefully they release it as an on-demand recording, as mine will be crappy webcast quality. Again, i can live with it till they release it officially

At least I can listen, it's the next best thing to being there. It sounds like a great night!

I don't know if it's the acoustics in there, but it sounds like an old time low budget live album - the best kind. The sound is simply wonderful for a live mixed radio broadcast. And the band is tight.

Is this a Tribute band playing?

One Song from the new album?????????
Re: Alice Cooper at the Whisky a Go Go--September 15th.
Sounds decent. It sounds like Orianthi is still trying different shred-it guitar solos and they sometimes don't really flow with the songs. Of course she's still new to the whole setlist to find her footing.

Re: Alice Cooper at the Whisky a Go Go--September 15th.
So I just got back from the show...it was amazing. Short ( only an hour) and sweet (the band was tight, sounded great). The venue is small, but everyone was considerate, no one shoved....but there was less than 400 people there...my concert shirt says "Sept 15th, 2011".
I would give you the setlist, but the picture above this post tells you everything. There will be photos and video all over youtube, I am sure.
I walked in the door right behind Bob Ezrin and Eric Singer....I looked up to the upstairs VIP area and saw Tommy Thayer and Paul Stanley. Rob Zombie introduced Alice...
and Ke$ha performed with Alice onstage during School's Out. She acted like she was drinking from a Jim Beam Whiskey bottle and pouring it on the people in front.....I am not sure if it was real...but maybe.
After the show ended...I walked to my car in a parking area next to The Whisky, and I looked at the venue. In the rooms above the concert area..I could see people and...I realized it was Alice talking to Paul Stanley, Rob Zombie, Eric Singer, ...I felt like such a voyeur. I could tell they were all just friends congratulating Alice on a great show, and his new album, Welcome 2 My Nightmare.

yep....I sent my pics (my tickets, my shirt and the front of the venue) to Si because I figured he would get more to show to everyone else.
He will probably upload them soon.

Re: Alice Cooper at the Whisky a Go Go--September 15th.
Aww I'm sad I didn't notice they had special shirts for tonight! But I guess it wouldn't have mattered anyway because I only had $7 cash, and the nice man at the merch table gave me the set of cups that was supposed to be $10 for $7.
I guarantee you that was real whiskey Ke$ha was pouring on the audience, I was down in front and even though I didn't get any on me I could smell it. There was a bit of shoving where I was, especially when two guys got into a fight over Alice's cane. Then they finally realized that they weren't getting anywhere and flipped a coin
I managed to snag a set list and I met a very nice man named Brian (Bryan?) who said he used to be Alice's prop manager, and that back then people called him Tarzan. He said he would've taken me upstairs to meet Alice but Alice had already left by that point. But that's okay!
All in all I had a lot of fun, met a lot of interesting people (including one person who lives 5 blocks away from me and I went to high school with but didn't know), and blew out my eardrums because I forgot my earplugs But it was worth it!

What do you suggest? Should Alice drop all pre-WTMN songs from the set list only because he's not playing with the acg?
Thats what a good spider does...you trap....you kill....you eat

I haven`t received them yet. Where did you send them?GailsFriend wrote:yep....I sent my pics (my tickets, my shirt and the front of the venue) to Si because I figured he would get more to show to everyone else.

I really liked the "turn of a phrase" Mr. Zombie used (concerning the original band) in his introduction.

Re: Alice Cooper at the Whisky a Go Go--September 15th.
I recorded the webcast, but unfortunately I had a few dropouts that lasted for >10 seconds or so. It happened during Brown Sugar, Billion $ Babies and a couple other times. Did anyone else experience this or was it on my end?
Re: Alice Cooper at the Whisky a Go Go--September 15th.
Been to California once, but I didn't go to that Whisky.GailsFriend wrote:GNDM said...."OK…..was any one there at the Whisky when the band first played it in 1969? Anyone? All righty...anyone ever BEEN to the Whisky – ever? Seen a picture? Heard about it? Old enough to DRINK Whiskey????? "
I was born in 1970...never been to the whisky...but I have seen pictures and driven past it plenty of times in Los Angeles..but this will be my FIRST time inside the place...it's legendary...especially in the 80's...when HAIR METAL was king...and yes, I am old enough to drink whiskey...I am 41.
I am very excited to see Alice at the Whisky. Listen on the radio for me...haha!
Yesterday was truly a great night for those who went to see the show. I hope that they realize it. As for whiskey, I'm old enough to drink whiskey and young enough to not get heartburns from drinking it.
