I think the similarities are within the vocal melody in the verses. But I think that's the extent of it.

The original nightmare stood on It's own... And so will this one.
I don't think Alice set out to duplicate anything from WTMN. Although there
Are traces of the original in it. It's an all new time and a new
bedtime story.

Has anyone noticed that Runaway Train sounds a bit like Dance Yourself To Death?
Schooooooooooooool's Ouuuuuuuuuuuuut. FOR. EVER!
Re: W2MN - My Review - BIG SPOILER ALERT
Dont' get runaway train sounding like dance yourself but I do think that it would make an excellent live track.

Wasn't Goes to Hell the sequel to Welcome to my Nightmare?...I remember a radio interview with Alice saying he didn't want to call it Nightmare part 2.
Re: W2MN - My Review - BIG SPOILER ALERT
Funny enough just finished reading the review under the albums discography on this site and they have it as the sequel.
Re: W2MN - My Review - BIG SPOILER ALERT
'Goes To Hell' was a sequel to WTMN.
'W2MN' is the alternate sequel from a parallel universe, which dropped through a worm hole in space/time.

I think your analysis is spot on. That is what it is.

My Ukrainian wife claims she can hear Russian music influences especially "Last Man on Earth" ....he has toured quite a bit over in the Slavic countries.

Listened to all the clips again. There are several radio friendly tunes. Could be that "What Baby Wants" might be one he is thinking about releasing. Think of how Aerosmith used Run DMC back in the day to propel their music back to the forefront. Just Sayin.....Actually not that bad of a tune.
