I realized yesterday that I hadn't played the record since it first came out over two weeks ago. That for me, says it all...

W2MN is one of those albums that is tough to sit and listen to the entire thing. Some good songs, interlaced with some unremarkable ones. IMO, this is an album that lends itself to tearing apart and keeping the good on a separate CD. The heck with the "concept".

I like GNDM's take on the record best...sums it up nice and accurately

Clearly, the winner in this discussion is Alice Cooper himself, the master of causing a commotion...even among his fans.
That is the secret of his longevity...just keep people talking about Alice Cooper. Whether the album is "great" or "awful"....doesn't matter, because clearly we, the fans, are interested in what he is doing....even 40 years later.
Now, will The Decemberists be able to keep that kind of interest going? Probably not....What about Lady Gaga?....I believe, yes. Because she know how to polarize people and her fans.

That's the difference between being creative and being an artist.

Praise Alice!

Never would have guessed.

Yes and I got it two weeks ago as my fan pack was apparently delayed.

Parish,

1) What is the best rock/metal album of 2011 in your opinion?

2) Did you try listening to W2MN with headphones?

3) Are you using your imagination when you listen to W2MN? or are you distracted?

4)Do you realize you are part of a very small group of people who do NOT like the album? You could probably form a bowling league or something....

Ugh!....that peroxide is acting up again.....got some Tums?

I played it yesterday on the way home just for S & G's

With the exception of a few tunes the record leaves me :(

again, you need to listen to it, without distraction. Not in the car....not at work....just you and the album need some time together.

One of the W2MN reviews left out by Gailsfriend:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xq2g0NUj_Mo

Gailsfriend, a question for you. You found dozens and dozens of positive reviews (so you say, I didn't read them) of W2MN....yet the album will, very likely, be off the Billboard charts next week. Have you come to the same conclusion that I have....that all those reviews are not even read, and/or totally ignored. One would think with all the positive reviews you found, that this album would have gone in the opposite direction from #22, than it has? As someone said before about their worth...those reviews and $4 will get you a tall latte at Starbucks.

You need to accept that someone doesn't like the album and move on with your life.
