How can it? It's set many decades later, with different technology, different players at different stages and ages in their lives.
How can it? because it can. and it does. It's just opinions, but as far as i'm concerned this album is just as worthy.
you'll never please all the people all the time, but i'm happy and think Alice has done himself proud w/ this.

Music is denied at work. Work Overnights. So I find My self playing Caffine and Runaway Train on the way in. Sometimes last man on earth just begins so I sit in thr car till its over. The story of Steveb Continues. Would be interesting for Alice and Neil gaiman to. Work together again on a book

Got mine in Asda, rushed home..... popped the cd on... then downhill till the last man on earth, loved it and worth it just for this track. Under the bed is equally very good and feel it could have been placed somewhere on the album.
great presentation with the magazine, badge, poster, and to see Alice on the shelfs was just awesome. However i think we can leave the nighmare theme and move on.... Dont need Nightmare 3. So ill burn last man on earth and under the bed to my ipod... then file the cd.

Only 2 songs you found worthy?
The Nightmare theme is just about every album...
Been playing Runaway Train a lot. Really like that one

So the people who don't like this album are missing the point? I think Alice has lost the plot.

I think you've made your point now, do you have to sabotage every thread to voice your displeasure?
Just because you were stupid enough to spend $75 on something you don't like, don't try and bring the rest of us down!

Ah, stupid, stupid, stupid me. Last I checked this is a forum which is set up for people to voice their opinions. I have not called out any specific people. You enjoy to do that however it seems, but you're not a fan of confrontation upon being the one to start it.

Apart from IBYFO, which stands out by a mile, and DBBF, then i don't rate this album, but that is after the 1st listen, to me, it doesn't tell a story like WTMN or GTH, just a mash of songs put together, and as some on here have said about ACAS, i never listened to anything else for 3 months when that came out, sorry people, but W2MN in my opinion is not anywhere near the top 15 Alice albums.
Also, if i wanted to hear parts of the original album, i would have listened to that again.

You know? On first listen, I was listening more to each song as an individual, and I didn't catch as much of the story line as I could have. The second time, I really listened more...and heard so much more connection than I did the first time.
And I'm in the really liking DBBF camp. It makes me laugh, EVERY TIME, and totally in a good way.

Schooooooooooooool's Ouuuuuuuuuuuuut. FOR. EVER!

I find it hard to see this as a " concept" album, which implies there is a common theme running through the album, which could be said of WTMN also.
I think Alice would like us to believe that every song is connected, but I can`t see it.
But that doesn`t mean its not a great album, i`ve waited years to hear something like DBBF, just the craziness of it, so tongue in cheek its a classic.
For the first time since I don`t know when, i`ve actually played a new Alice album four times on the spin, I think its that good.
To be perfectly honest I think the weaker songs are those co-written by the original members, which for me, a ACG nut, is something i`d never thought would pass my lips.
I was actually a bit nervous when I started to listen to this because I was so desperate for it to be a good album , ( i`m sick of being dissapointed ), but I am genuinely surprised how good it is. In fact, it`s brilliant, I love it.
I`m one of the `Over 50`s `.

From a musical perspective, I agree, but if you listen to the Rockline or the Planet Rock interview, it helps tie it all together. The opening two songs don't really fit, but after that the ideas all start to make sense.

I haven't heard it, but the way Alice described the two songs seem to connect. He said in that interview that I Am Made Of You is Steven/Alice saying a final prayer
before he faces the new nightmare and Caffeine was doing what he could, trying to stay awake to avoid it.
