Just like a real "Runaway Train".

Great review, Si. If I wrote a review, it wouldn't be really any different.

As acknowledged in my recap, I can see it's effectiveness but it just didn't blow me away.

My 2 year old loves DBBF. Whatever gets her ready for her first concert next year I guess. :)

I have a two and a half year old and she loves it too. She knows all the words to this and last man on earth and likes to sing and dance whenever she hears them.

A rock show at three years old? Just my opinion, man, I don't mean to judge, but even with earplugs it seems way too young to bring those still-developing ears to a concert. Again, that's just me.

I have a pair of these she will wear.

We have been practicing wearing them so she will leave them on. It depends on where we are and what kind of venue too. I would love to be on the barricade, but it will depend again on the venue and how she is next year...as well as how many people I have with me. If we are at a larger venue and on the lawn or something, volume shouldn't be too much of a problem. Can't wrap my head around being that far back for an Alice show though so we will see.

Cool. Didn't mean to suggest you weren't taking precautions, yo. Hope it works out. :)

I took my son to see KISS, last August. He was turning 8 at the time, alot of people (especially the ex) gave me a hard time about it but he had one of the best times of his life. Even did the gene Demon makeup. He now wants to see Alice and Lady Gaga. It all depends on the child I guess, do they get it ? a parent knows their child more then anyone.

mkayers wrote:I personally love this album. Then again I must be weird because from what I've read on here in the past I'm one of the few that liked ACAS. I've listened to it countless times already & it doesn't get tiring to me. I don't think Disco Bloodbath is bad, I don't think Ghouls is that bad either. The more I listen I think it could also be called "Goes 2 Hell" because it seems to have alot of that feel to me as well. This could be a big hit if there were radio stations that played new music by classic artists.
Agree on both the greatness of Disco Bloodbath and Ghouls (great metal surf that one), but ACAS was and is a ridiculously bad album, can't stress that enough

Absolutely love the new album, there's just one thing I don't like: the drumming! I mean, how can such a fantastic drummer do such a shoddy job. Especially on 'a runaway train'. I realise that that was the sound they were going for, being a runaway train and all, but it sounds terrible imo.

Alice isn't exactly known for drums in his solo career, but Neal Smith's drumming in the original band was very distinctive and this album has some of the most outstanding drumming since the band days (in my opinion).

My son went to the Hey Stoopid gig in Edinburgh when he was just four years old, front row of the circle, he even got the make-up on. And now he is a well adjusted lunatic and we are going to the glagow october gig together, what better for a daddy - son day?

OFF TOPIC ...sorry in advance ..

This may sound like a bit of a coincidence (But TRUE :) )......., We took my 9yr old (& his big sister) to his first Alice gig in 2001 (Brutal Planet) at the same Edinburgh venue , same seats ......but things didn't go as planned after the drive from Glasgow with a kid with an ear infection & a terrible bout of HayFever ....Antibiotics & Piriton to ease the pain led to a drowsy journey .......But nothing prepared us for him sleeping DURING the bloody gig ......Hard to imagine sleeping during Wicked Young Man , but he managed it.........I was gutted , as I knew he would have loved it , but as over-protecive parents we filled him with to much stuff .......
To this day , any time Alice comes , we always joke with my son we will drug him before the gig .......Roll on Halloween in Glasgow.....

This guy interupts each track way too much. Some of what he said I agree with but some of what he said I don't. He wasn't too fond of the first song which I think is brilliant.

Could go Heard the album about 10 times now. Played Brutal Planet again. Gotta say this is better. I forgot how bad some of the Rhyming is on that Album. Not say its bad. Still one of My favorites. Even though I do really care a lot for What Baby Wants I think it could go on to be hit. Really. Wondering what if any thing the bouns songs will add to the overall story of the album.
