Alice Cooper To Release First iPad Fan Pack For 'Welcome 2 My Nightmare'
June 20, 2011
Future Publishing is making its next fan pack release available simultaneously in print and via the iPad.
Having previously released a number of special bespoke magazine packs featuring albums by Blondie, Motorhead, Slash and Whitesnake, the forthcoming Alice Cooper album 'Welcome 2 My Nightmare' will be released as a fan pack physically and on the iPad.
Along with all the material available on the printed version, the iPad album fan pack will feature a digital version of the album along with video footage recorded at the Download festival, interactive elements and other additional content.
Classic Rock and Metal Hammer publisher Chris Ingham said that the brief from Alice Cooper's management was to 'put Halloween in a box'.
The title is due for release in September, four weeks before the standard album version from Universal. It is understood that the iPad version will then be updated, post release.
"We believe it is a world first," said Ingham.(end article)
I believe BJORk has beaten Alice with her new album for the Ipad.
But as an owner of an IPAD2 I am very happy to see that the whole fanpack will be on the app.

Re: Ipad nightmare
Any news on the release date for this version?
Re: Ipad nightmare
I didnt see a thing apart from this article.
Re: Ipad nightmare
I contacted iTunes and they know nothing about it. My guess is it's either not happening or it'll come out in a month when all the diehard fans have already bought five other versions.

Re: Ipad nightmare
What?? what a shame !!!!
Re: Ipad nightmare
The advert in the new issue of Classic rock for the fan pack actually shows the Ipad version and says it's "out now" which of course it isn`t.
Re: Ipad nightmare
Any reason why this is canceled? Or did I misunderstand it ?

Re: Ipad nightmare
It hasn't been canceled, AFAIK, it just hasn't been released yet. Obviously the plan was for it to be released before the Fan Pack magazine ad, but for whatever reason, it hasn't been released yet.

Re: Ipad nightmare
Doesn't look like there is anything different from the magazine Fan pack, with the interviews just replaced with videos... Seems like a well put together pack but, nothing that many of us don't already have.
Unless I'm mistaken? I know there was some speculation there may be download or 100 club footage there somewhere?

Re: Ipad nightmare
Just downloaded it, a quality product (great hi-def images) which appears to be the Fan Pack magazine but with video introduction / interviews and some minor interactive content.
The only 100 club footage I can see is the video for I'll Bite Your Face Off.
The music doesn't go into your iTunes library so no chance to put the songs on your iPod or burn to CD etc.
Well done to all involved. That's 4 different versions of the album purchased now!

Re: Ipad nightmare
A nice package, although I find it strange and somewhat counter productive that it doesn't allow you to burn to ipod.
Re: Ipad nightmare
Alice said the Ipadversion was interactive so I hope for more content to follow. Easy to deliver with an update
Re: Ipad nightmare
What a bummer. Only available in Itunes UK store.
I still have to wait.
Apple's devices are GREAT but their store + Itunes SUCK !!

Re: Ipad nightmare
For all the hype about Apple iTunes, I found it amazing that when I downloaded W2MN I received no liner notes of any sort.mestreech wrote:What a bummer. Only available in Itunes UK store.

Same thing when I downloaded the album from Amazon.
Would it be that hard for them to figure out how to include scans of the album art and liner notes?
Ridiculous.
"Golly gee it's wrong to be so guilty..."
Re: Ipad nightmare
You have the other versions don't you? Aren't the liner notes on there?
