Alice Show Cycles

Post by tommystooge » Sat Jul 09, 2011 4:09 am

I find that Alice seems to do a lot of things in cycles...

For instance albums seem to come in two's:

Nightmare and Goes To Hell are similar in theme, Constrictor/Raise Your Fist, Brutal Planet/Dragontown, Eyes/Dirty Diamonds

And I find his show's have a cycle, he'll do a big theatrical show and the next tour is less theatrical and more rockin'...Theatre Of Death/No More Mr. Nice Guy for instance...

Reason I bring this up is,,,The Nice Guy tour is more rockin' and less theatrical, so does that mean we can expect a big show for W2MN tour...I certainly hope so...

its been said many times that the W2MN tour will be big on theatrics, possibly his biggest tour since the original.

In case you want to look into this further (and I recommend you do), I'm pretty sure there is a previous thread on this (and something like eighty - two pages of other threads) which you may find interesting.

I don't need just a huge show but also a killer setlist with at least 4-5 new songs from the new album(of course if they are great)..I mean i wouldn't enjoy a huge show with a "hits setlist".
I know that the tour is gonna be based on the album but it's been a few years since he played more than 2-3 songs on a show from a new album.

I'd be happy if Coop cycled back to playing major US cities again instead of casinos, fair grounds and cow pastures. If a larger show with more overhead forces larger venues to cover costs then it will be a good thing. Sadly, I am not sure he can sell in the US any more which is why he had to warm up Rob Zombie the last year.

I'm not sure that is correct. I don't believe he "Warmed" up Rob Zombie. I think they both pulled their own crowds.
The tour was a joint venture.

It was a co-headline tour and both artists had equal time on stage. Jack knows this (or should do).

The first leg of the NMMNG tour is done,so now they should try and duplicate the promotion/hype they seem to have in Europe back home in the States.

That makes zero sense. The venue will cover it's own costs only.

I'm sure Alice can still pull good crowds in the US, having said that I was surprised that he again chose the UK for the Halloween shows (not that I'm complaining of course). Maybe he is genuinly bigger here?

The co-headline tours really work for me so have no problem with 2 or 3 bands going in together if it means larger crowds at bigger venues. The Def Leppard / Thin Lizzy shows in Ireland were truly mouthwatering.

I think that type of a show was a big success, so may be going for a repeat (plus logistically seemed to work out better for the UK shows in the fall since he was doing mainly festival/package shows this summer and was kind of already in the neighborhood with Lizzy/Leppard.) I don't know if it was a measure of anything, especially since that type of program hasn't been tried in the U.S. that I know of.

Yup, I guess the UK is a good country logistically, lots of big cities with minimal travelling time suits a Haloween tour as there's a small shelf life.

With the current climate i would say the co headline tours are a win win for the artists and fans alike .

YES I KNOW...I meant because it's N2, the cyclops was an important part of the original show, not the electric chair...
