Just wanted to bring it to everyone's attention that we are now officially now at the 40th Anniversary of the release of the benchmark album, "Love It To Death," which was released in February/March of 1971.

For those who are Love It To Death-less, you can purchase Love It To Death from SickthingsUK:

http://www.sickthingsuk.co.uk/albums/a-litd.php

And it may also be worth checking out the Audio Fidelity remaster as well.

Discuss!

We certainly need a Deluxe Edition of LITD to mark the occassion, with expanded packaging incl. LOTS of extra photos of the band, memorabilia, etc. and lots of bonus tracks (a 2nd CD if necessary) i.e. demos, etc.

awesome album joint third best ACG album for me.

Would have loved to have seen 'My Very Own' make it onto the album, wonder if a studio version of that will appear on the forthcoming Old School Boxset?

>'My Very Own'

I'm pretty sure there isn't really a song with that title. It's just the extended version of "Is It My Body".

I'd be very surprised if anyone on this forum does not have "Love it to Death".

I always change my mind on which Alice Cooper I love the best. The good thing is that I don't have to decide.

What I love about this album is the simplicity of the arrangements and instruments. Not too fancy or slick, showing that this was a really good rock'n roll band. Ezrin really deserves a lot of credit for that.

sure but there is a studio demo/rehearsal of that extended version of 'Is It My Body'

part of which became known as 'My Very Own' on live bootlegs. I loved the version at Hollywood Bowl 72

maybe a decent quality version of the extended Is It My Body/My Very Own even live will appear on the Old School Boxset?

The audio fidelity is the only way to go.

A great album and its successor Killer is even better. Love it to death is one of the most frequently played Alice Cooper albums in my collection. I think Easy action, Love it to death, Killer and School's out is an amazing string of quality albums. I personally don't include Billion dollar babies on that list but everyone is free to disagree with me and most of you will definately do it.

Love it to death was the first commercially succesful album for Alice Cooper and it led the band immediately to hard rock stardom with a creative explosion, unique rebellious twist, uncompromising attitude and the humour black as the darkest night. While the band had spread their musical demon wings they also took the theatrical performances to the new provocative, yet hilariously entertaining level.

Yes, but there is still no song called "My Very Own".

Those are not always the best source of information.

I agree there is no song known as " My Very Own ".
We would be better referring to this as " Is It My Body " long version.

yes agreed Is It My Body long version as pitkin suggested is a more accurate description of this piece, but what an extension to the song, would have loved to have heard that end up on the album in all its glory, but the version that appeared on 'You're all crazier than I am' bootleg was awesome anyway
