Classic Rock Special Edition of W2MN?

Post by wind_up_toy » Tue Mar 29, 2011 6:18 pm

This is based on nothing other than my own curiosity, but do any of you think this is a possibility (like they did with the Slash and new Whitesnake albums)?

I think it's fair to say that CR are Alice fans!

I think that`s actually a damn fine idea! Certainly didn`t hurt Slash or Motorhead that I'm aware of. I bought the motorhead one BECAUSE of the package magazine and sure I'm not alone for similar releases.

I've got the Whitesnake one and it really is a great package for £14.99. Maybe Alice's recent publicity and the whole Nightmare 2 concept will swing it in his/our favour.

That makes great sense.

Dedicate the issue to him, the ACG, and the road that led him to W2MN.

I'd love to see it become a reality.

It would be fantastic if they did this!! I have the slash, motorhead and whitesnake ones and they are all really good. It actually makes me excited about buying cds again. I have been thinking for a while that it would be great if they did an alice one.

WOW! With the Alice Cooper Group HOF induction and reunion performances, the Jagermeister ACG recording, the OLD SCHOOL box set and W2MN Classic Rock special edition, this is shaping up to be a very good year to be an Alice Cooper fan.

Now, if Alice will give us fans who weren´t able to attend the HOF or Golden Gods ceremonies a chance to see the ORIGINAL Alice Cooper Group (minus GB of course) live in concert, that would certainly make my year complete!

Alice confirmed the classic rock tie in, in the download programme.
He also mentioned that the the original band are trying to see if they can work out a tour.

Can't remember the exact wording, but i read in it that Alice says it's inevitable

Not seen the programme, but was the wording not "work together" rather then "tour"?

No, it was tour together, but it was worded as if it was a way down the line, after the WTMN2 stuff was finished

It would certainly be great if they "work together" again on any level. Even a few club dates in major cities like NY, Detroit, Toronto and London (as Alice has mentioned in previous interviews) would make a lot of us diehard Alice fans very happy:-)

And since the Jagermeister film was only seen by a relatively small number of fans, I think it would be a good idea to make a new DVD of the ACG performing live.

The Coops still got it (in spades!) but just like everything else in life, it will not last forever.

I really hope Nightmare 2 is as good as "insiders" say it is..and it gets the publicity, attention and ballyhoo it rightly deserves.A Top Ten showing in the Billboard album charts would be something to behold for us long time Alice fans.

I think thats to optimistic as Alice isn't mainstream enough.
But i hope I'm wrong.

I *could* be wrong, but I'm not sure sales of these "fan Packs" count towards chart totals in the UK. I seem to remember that under the rules you are only allowed a certain amount and type of extras to be eligable. Not sure exactly what they are but it could exempt the Classic Rock edition sales being included. Maybe someone knows more?
Of course chart positions are meaningless nowadays anyway, but yeah, it would be kinda nice.

And no doubt social media would help. Myspace was undoubtedly a big help for Along Came A Spider in its chart position. A lot of hype with this album...

I'm not sure what your source was, but Si is correct.
