Rock Hall Announcement--Dec. 15

Post by NotSoPerfect » Mon Dec 13, 2010 12:01 am

So, the OFFICIAL announcement of who will be inducted into the RNRHOF comes on Wednesday.....but, there are a few sites claiming that names are leaking out and artist reps are being contact.

This is SO not official, but....if it's to be believed at all (and we only have to wait 3 days), then....they're in!

*keeping my fingers crossed 'til Wednesday at 10:30 AM EST*

We all know the HOF is a joke, but it'll be nice seeing Alice mentioned in major media publications and outlets. Good for him/them (if this is true, which it should be)!

If Alice doesn't get in I hope we don't go down the route of slagging of the Hall of Fame any further (its been done for years)..we don't want to mirror the english FA world cup bid/FIFA sour grapes(even if well founded)..we all know its showbiz..and even being nominated hasn't harmed Alice..I think Alice will get in..if they don't how can Kiss get in the Hall at all.... :alice:

^^Not saying it's incorrect, but Blabbermouth is just going off the same Hits Daily Double link that NSP posted in her original post.

The best part of this whole deal (IF the decision is in Alice's favor) will be the newspaper and magazine clippings that'll be there for the taking. Other than that, it only matters what Alice thinks about the decision.
If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...

Not yet official, but:
Alice Cooper, the Valley singer who pioneered the use of theatrics in rock, has confirmed that he will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with his band March 14.

Cooper, 62, said Tuesday that he was notified a week ago by the Cleveland-based organization that they will be part of its 26th class.

Congrats to the ACG for finally getting rewarded. From AZ Central..........

"Getting in the Hall of Fame is about the ultimate thing you can do when you're a garage band from Cortez High in Phoenix," Cooper said. "It's the most humbling thing in the world when you realize who else is in there. You look out at the audience, and every guy who influenced you is sitting there, and they are the people who voted on you."

The eyeliner-wearing Cooper and his original band - guitarist Michael Bruce, bassist Dennis Dunaway, drummer Neal Smith and late guitarist Glen Buxton - will join such rock and pop luminaries as the Beatles, Bob Dylan, U2, Aretha Franklin, Bruce Springsteen, James Brown and Buddy Holly in the hall, which was established in 1986.

Janice and I wish that Glen's mom could have been here to hear about it.

That really is a shame though bittersweet they made it.

So it's finally happened? About time!

Congratulations to everyone! My first thought was also that Glen's mum just missed this. But all of us thousands of fans can't be wrong, this is one of the greatest bands of all time!
