Why? Because there are so many people that do NOT know they started as a band, that I think the clarification is important.

I've known who Alice Cooper was at LEAST since Wayne's World came out. Only realized it was ever a band after I became a fan after seeing a show in '05.

So much is not known about the GROUP.

There's clearly a difference.

Beyond that, if they didn't, Alice the solo artist wouldn't have a chance at being inducted. He still does this way. And we know how that warms your heart.

As Dannorama has pointed out,there could well be many positive effects from this,should be a veritable springboard for "Nightmare 2",and all that will entail!With the induction in late winter,the "reunion tour" of sorts in spring,and Nightmare 2,on its heels,the timing is impeccable!!

Did anyone else notice that on the Rock hall website they make a point about how it is the original band and then have for their essential 'Alice Cooper Band' videos they have poison!!!

I've accepted both sides of the issue, and I am at peace.

You can't knock the band or Alice, so the next best thing is the RRHOF. I totally understand the frustration some may feel. My apologies to anyone I offended with my opinions. Although, I think only one of my posts was deleted.

I never voiced my opinion much about the non induction of the group in the past. Was I mildly disappointed each year not to see Alice Cooper on the ballot or induction list? Certainly. Am excited to see them on the list now? Oh, yeah!!

Fantastic news! No matter what you may think of the Hall, these guys deserve it as much as anyone I can think of. And now they have it. Congrats to them!!

I think everything fell into place finally. I'm sure some strategic planning is in there too. All I fell is relief to know that Alice is finally in. I feel it had to be the GROUP first and Alice the man may never be considered because of playing with so may other rock stars. I don't know how that works.

Must admit I have no concern about Alice solo getting in separate to the band..coz he was a major player in the band..Would Roger Daltrey or Mick Jagger worry about having their own entry..I doubt it..if we get Alice solo nominated then we can have everyone inducted who ever played with him..haha..I might try and get in with him as I am sure my cheers are on the live from Glasgow 12 inch single from early 80s( I deserve nomination for all the searching for stuff in record ships in early 80s)..haha..off back to the whiskey

How cool is this.. My two favorite performers in the rock and Roll Hall Of Fame!! First Johnny Cash and now Alice Cooper!! This is so long overdue.. Congrats to Alice and the guys.. They damned well deserve it!
