The Night Shift Concept Revealed

Post by HORRORHOLIC » Mon Apr 26, 2010 3:16 am

Alice did an interview with The Toronto Sun and talked about the tour with Rob Zombie and the new album's concept which sounds pretty unique http://www.torontosun.com/entertainment ... 14686.html

Sounds cool. I remember him talking about doing a '40s radio theme for the next tour, which ended up being the Theatre of Death. It sounds like that me be the next tour concept.

That actually sounds cool. I would hope this would mean some variety in the songs if it's supposed to be "different bands."

I hope that giant needle gets filled with penicillin one night and cures the new CD of the "clap" which infected the last album, LOL!

I believe the STDs on Along Came A Spider were from the producers.

I love this concept. Sounds like a lot of fun. Similar to Roger Waters's Radio K.A.O.S., a project that didn't completely deliver.

Was thinking the same thing. It seems nearly autobiographical...maybe a fantasy of Nights with AC.

Very interesting concept ... leads to all sorts of ideas. :)

I really dig this concept. Sounds like it could be really cool... but also something that can't be rushed. I agree, go with a different producer on this one. I wouldn't mind Alice working with Mudrock again. I think TEOAC is his best produced album in a long time.

Roger Waters did a radio themed album called "Radio K.A.O.S."

If Apple comes out with a clap on, clap off version of their ipod it will never be able to play ACAS, LOL!

Concepts are fine as long as there are some great guitar riffs backing it up. Concepts to a music CD are as important as background music for a novel on CD.

Saw the same interview in Winnipeg and Edmonton Sun websites/newspapers today. I'm not linking them, as they're the exact same interview.

Sorry if that's old news. But I am listening to Planet Rock's "listen again". Alice's show from last Wednesday (2 june)

He mentioned talking about Lemmy from Motörhead in his next album. I'm assuming he meant this album not the one he's working with Ezrin?
He said the song was called "In the 80's in LA" no idea if it's a tentative title or just a concept.

Anyway thought I'd post this here.

Duh can't edit the post now. I meant to change the phrasing here since I'm guessing it was a joke and it's not really obvious from what I wrote. But the joke is on me now :8):

Then again you never know :p

He's doing "Welcome To My Nightmare 2" with Bob Ezrin and several other alumni.

In the recent video interview that was posted with Alice from Zurich, he revealed that Night Shift was done and that it would be released in about 3 years...I assume that means WTMN 2 will dominate the tour scene the next couple of years...of course we all know with Alice that things can change...

Interesting.... Alice has an album completely in the can that he'll hold back for 3 years. I can't say I've ever heard of any band really doing that sort of thing.
