Long ago, in olden times, (the 70's, kids...) I had the quad albums of both B$B and MOL. I know that the B$B quadrophonic mix was the basis for the DVD-A. But I seem to be missing something...
I thought all along that "Raped and Freezin" was stretched out to add the effect of fireworks played on Neal's drums. Now that I listen to the DVD-A, I notice it's not there.
Here's the question - did they edit it, or do I have the wrong song in mind? The fade out to that particular song ended with heavy thuds in staccato, and it really did sound like distant skyrockets.
Just putting it out there...

Re: Quadrophonic question
I don't believe it is there on the quad version.
I have a needle drop of it that I listened to in the car today.
I'll check the timing against the album version tomorrow and give it a listen with the headphones on.

Re: Quadrophonic question
I have the BDB album DVD-A so I'll have to listen to R&F to hear if it's there.

I listened to my copy of the B$B quadrophonic LP. I didn't hear any fireworks effect sounds at the end of "Raped And Freezin'", but at the end of "Generation Landslide" I sure did. Could it be that song you had in mind, Danno?

Holy Catarronis, Petri!!! That's right! I just listened (again) to the "BDB" DVD, and it all came back to me. You are right that the "skyrockets" sound effects happened at the end of the QUAD version of "Generation Landslide." There is NO such sound on the Audio/DVD. Lousy corporate stinkwads. Let's see them explain THIS from the comfort of the Princess Acapulco.
