Legendary rockers Alice Cooper told RollingStone.com that he is in talks to develop a Broadway show. One of the ideas is to redo the concept from the 1975 album and tour for "Welcome To My Nightmare".

"Do it in a set show, do it all out rock," he said, "so you're in a concert. You can do so much more if you're not traveling. You can set things up, put people in the audience that are in the show, so the guy sitting next to you might fly up in the air. I love the idea of an insane asylum, of being in an insane asylum, where you walk in, they lock the doors, and then they stand there, so you're in. The claustrophobia thing is good."

If a straight recreation doesn't pan out, there's also the back story behind the original ALICE COOPER band, which he said resembled the story of the FOUR SEASONS as told in "Jersey Boys". "We're actually talking about a lot of these things right now," Cooper said, "but it's always the back story that drives the thing: ‘He and his wife were married for 34 years.' We probably have the strongest marriage in the whole [music] business. And it's very romantic, and that would give it heart. You have this total monster up there, who's totally in love with the girl, a monster with a heart of gold. I would like to do that show

yeah, how many times has he thought out loud about putting together a broadway show? lots.

I'D LOVE for This to happen. I'd book my flight and trip together....

I think Broadway is in NYC not Vegas.

I'd give anything to have this happen. NYC is only about 4 hours from me!

I've heard this all before, but I too would love it to happen. The couple of shows I have seen (in LA) have been nothing short of amazing!

Vegas might make more commercial sense than NY, but it then might end up like a Cirque show.

When asked by Paul Gambaccini in 74 would he consider doing a broadway show he said what we are doing now is a travelling broadway show so it doesn't need to be on broadway.

I think the time is right for an Alice show with the success of productions of We Will Rock You and Jersey Boys both of which I thought really worked well, why not Alice?

There was an Alice musical called Original Sin that played in Leeds in the UK, I went to see it and it worked really well. The guy who put it on was a fan obviously and the musicians and actors were very good even though it was an amateur production but done very well.
Every song but one was an Alice song and when I asked the guy who put it on why he picked That's The Way God planned it by Billy Preston as the only non Alice song he said he couldn't find a suitable Alice song about God, I then pointed out My God off Lace & Whiskey to which he replied that was the only album he didn't have!
