Welcome to my NEW VINYL
Looks like Friday Music is releasing an 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl version of Welcome to my Nightmare on January 12. The interesting thing I find is that it is apparently a gatefold sleeve. Were any of the original vinyl releases gatefold? If not, then it sounds like some new content may be included.

The answer is at http://www.sickthingsuk.co.uk/albums/a-wtmn.php (if only it was looked for).

Does anyone know the price of this?

Amazon US says $23.73. There's a strange number. I have not taken the time to check other prices globally. I'm sure that seems lazy to some.

That depends on whether you're asking someone else to do it.

Re: Welcome to my NEW VINYL
Geez, why did I have to pick 2 of the most fun bands to spend money on? Between Kiss merchandise and Alice Cooper remasters, I am gonna go bankrupt.
But, I really want to see the inside of the gatefold....I hope someone will take photos!
Now, the decision....food or AC WTMN Vinyl? Hard decision....

Re: Welcome to my NEW VINYL
I've ordered both this (and the SO vinyl) basically to see this gatefold sleeve looks like.
Unfortunatly they will be heading to Jaded's house in the USA (thus avoiding extra postage and customs fees) so I might not actually get them for a while.
btw, they're doing B$B next which is due in March. When I get a second I'll post links to them all in the store.

Cool news about the B$B album! That will be welcome. FYI, you will be pleased with the School's Out packaging. It is not too far removed from the original, minus the special die-cutting. The label reflects the old golden WB label, and the vinyl itself is dead quiet between cuts.
I will wait for your links to order these next two, Si!

Do they really charge customs fees on an album?

If it is marked as merchandise, then yes.

Anything that has the value on the outside of the packaging above a certain amount (£18?) *can* be caught by customs and you'll have to pay through the nose to get it.

I think you can get around that (although maybe not always) if it is marked as a gift and a reputable retailer might want to do that.

Re: Welcome to my NEW VINYL
Actually, as I beleive that`s in fact illegal most "reputable" dealers won`t do that. If you're getting stuff from ebay etc then of course they will, but big companies like Amazon won`t do it.

Link for all three are up now in the store.Dannorama wrote:Cool news about the B$B album! That will be welcome. FYI, you will be pleased with the School's Out packaging. That's what I meant to write. It should have read "a reputable dealer might not want to do that."

Re: Welcome to my NEW VINYL
FWIW I ordered the SO vinyl from US Amazon when it came out and didn't get charged any customs fees - perhaps I was just lucky.

That may have been below the threshold. I have more then one on order.
Plus it is very much hit and miss as to whether they will catch it. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don`t.
