KERI KELLI lesson experience

Post by silasv » Fri Dec 04, 2009 10:08 am

Hi - first post but I have been an avid reader of the site as the updates are exellent... so tahnks sickthingsuk.
Anyway - thought I would share with you my recent Keri Kelli guitar lesson experience...
Let me start by saying that he is an absolute top guy - very down to earth and very friendly... as is Damon. Whilst I was waiting to head up to Keri's room for my lesson Damon walked through the lobby and stopped for a chat. Very friendly and a top guy.
Anyway .. the lesson. I have been playing guitar for 20 years and Keri blew me away with his playing. It was a fantastic experience and even better because he was so down to earth. I even got to play his Gold top Les paul ... maybe helped by fact I had my les paul with me but nevertheless he was super cool and fantastic to talk to. Guitar lesson and jam over with he was cool with my wife taking photos of us playing, signing my guitar and the SOTU album. Great guy and great guitarist!

I keep hearing about people bringing their friends or wife with them to the guitar lesson. Did you e-mail him and ask if she could come or just brought her along and asked if she could stay?

I got a lesson next sunday :)

Thanks
... re teh question on taking someone with you. I took my wife as we were both at the gig later on and teh hotel I was meeting Keri at was too far to come back and then make teh gig. My wife came upto the room to get a fw photos for me and had planned to leave but Keri was very friendly and was cool with her taking some photos during the lesson / jam. As I say - he is one of teh nicest guys you could meet.

My lesson experience was very much like yours.

He was a really nice guy and totally blew me away with his playing. I got loads of hints and tips and also had a shot of the goldtop. What a cracking guitar eh?

He was very friendly and was more than happy to answer any questions and sign a couple of photos.

It was a great experience and I'd recommend it to any guitar player beginner or pro.

Yes I play with 11's and couldn't believe that's what he had on that guitar!
Felt like 9's to me as I'm use to the heavier gauges, it had a great set-up.

But like you say, don't want to get too off topic here so I'll stop!
