Two Sides, One Album

Post by Si » Tue Sep 22, 2009 11:24 pm

There may be 'two sides to every story' but there's only one best album of the year.
And this is it. No contest.

Agreed. This is an outstanding effort. Getting a lot of play in my house, office and car.. Stay in California is so good. Give this a listen...and then a buy.

I was waiting for it to be complete so I could buy it. I really love it, always loved Ryan's voice. And the band is so tight! Great album indeed!

OK Si. I've listened enough. Album of the year it is. It really is fantastic. Hats off to Ryan on a great job.

I think its great that they play on their own.
Really fond of "The Question", "36 Hours" and "Wish You Goodnight" Lots of talent there.

Me too, but Ryan's got that talent and musical attraction that I enjoy even if he had never been tied to Coop. As a stand-alone musician (surrounded by talented band members, of course) he's that rare breath of fresh air you usually don't find in this era of disposable, lifeless music. These recent R77 tunes make my feet tap under the computer desk... and today's music doesn't stand up to that test.

Kudos to Ryan for thinking globally not only with his tunes but his ideology of where we stand as folks on this ball of hate, er... planet.
If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...

Two Sides to Every Story is awsome. I haven't bought it yet but only because Roxie mentioned the possibility of selling actual CD-copies while they're on tour (and since I live in Stockholm where the band is based there's a pretty good chance they'll play here).

My only problem with the album is that the songs sometimes feel stand alone rather than part of an album, but that might have to do that with them being released individually I've heard some of them more than others.

It is a great album. Not the best of 2009, but certainly a contender for top 5.

There's a very very good chance they'll play there. Watch for a show around the middle of December....
