I need a fix..............
Don't know about you guys but I seriously am in need of a new LIVE concert dvd to throw into my rotation. I hope Alice puts out at least one more. Here, we play them often but I must say that the "Welcome to my Nightmare" gets the most "abuse". What is your fav?

Re: I need a fix..............
I agree we need a new live DVD. There was talk about a new one (probably from the Psychodrama tour). It was mentioned on this site a while back.
Though I do love the WTMN DVD, the one that gets the most play now is the 2005 Montreux disc, because I have it on blu-ray and the picture quality is OUTSTANDING. The audio quality isn't lossless, but it is still miles ahead of the sound on WTMN.
The Theatre of Death tour NEEDS to be released on DVD (and blu-ray of course). If this is his most theatrical since WTMN, I'm sure Alice will be pushing for it to be released. We can only hope. The sucky part is that it wouldn't happen for another year or so. Perhaps it will hit when the new album hits.

However much I'd love to love Montreux, the camera angles that cuts every 3 seconds to a new and pointless shot robs all enjoyment out of it for me (tho it sounds great).
However, luckily that's the bad egg amongst many brilliant releases - Nightmare (& returns), Brutally Live etc. are brilliant to watch, would love to have a new release that's shot as well as the show is executed.

I agree 100%! I never even bought my own copy of this DVD for that reason, despite the fact that I LOVED that tour.ElectedPlus wrote:However much I'd love to love Montreux, the camera angles that cuts every 3 seconds to a new and pointless shot robs all enjoyment out of it for me (tho it sounds great).
The quick cuts are just too maddening!

Re: I need a fix..............
I hadn't watched Montreux in a while until just last week, but it was shot digitally and looks fantastic on my 50" plasma... even the regular disc.
I bought the Blu-ray even though I don't own a Blu-ray player yet so one of these days I'll be able to enjoy that but the regular disc still looks fantastic on an upconverting DVD player.
A lot of concerts these days have the quick cuts, but this one looks so good and is such a great performances that it's worth having.

I love all my Alice videos. But I have a real soft spot for "Good to See You Again Alice Cooper". The Billion Dollar Babies show is just so legendary and unbelievable. And so ahead of its time. It's the show that really changed all rock concerts forever.

Good To See You Again is by far my favorite followed up by the Montreax DVD.
After seeing the "Theatre Of Death" show the other night I really hope it is the next live DVD we get. I'm more than willing to wait.

I think Good To See You Again would have to be my favourite, but I love 'em all. A Theatre Of Death show on DVD would be awesome.

We do need a new one from this tour.
I think it would be a good one.
I have Trashes The World and Prime Cuts.
I have never seen the others.

I hear that!
For me, as with the albums my "favourite" changes from time to time. Most recently I've been enjoying WTMN (with the commentary) and with the live shows coming up for me I've watched Brutally Live in the past week to start getting me (even more) fired up (though I can't work out how to make the "Alice vision" thing work on my current DVD player).

I'd like a BluRay of the current tour before the line-up changes again.

Re: I need a fix..............
On Brutally Live I was too interested in the manly dude with the kick-ass dance moves in the front row rather than trying to spot a Sickie. haha. Ew, that didn't come out right.alienspice wrote:(and for playing "Spot the Sickthing"
Trashes The World DVD. Great live band he had - Go Pete Go!
If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...
Re: I need a fix..............
for me,it's montreux-love the "phantom" opening..still gives me goosebumps! I can only watch "good to see you again" with the commentary on!!!!
Re: I need a fix..............
Brutally Live - not just the Best AC dvd but one of the best music DVDs of all.
Trashes is very very good too.

Re: I need a fix..............
I have a hard time believing we won't get a DVD of the new tour, but it probably won't be taped for several months, when Alice and the band have perfected the timing. Montreux came about a year (give or take) after the actual event date. So, this time next year, we could have a new blu-ray. AND HOPEFULLY A NEW ALBUM!!!! On that subject, I'm hoping for a return to the Dirty Diamonds/Eyes production style, but with songs a little more weighty. Dirty Diamonds was fun, but not enough substance to make it great.Jumping Jack wrote:I'd like a BluRay of the current tour before the line-up changes again.

Re: I need a fix..............
I may be in the minority here, but I thought Alice did a really good job in Monster Dog. Let's be honest: the script was not exactly on a par with "Sophie's Choice". Considering the silliness of the script, I thought Alice did a really good job actually.grim fact wrote:
