I'm dissappointed that Alice get's so little attention at this album.
Only on a bonustrack ????
And if you look at the official Slash on you tube page there's not a word on him, shame !!!!

I fully agree.Alice is,as usually underrated!I haven't listened to the track to say much , but i'm pretty sure that alice vocals could easily beat 3-4 songs of the main album ....

From what I've heard (just the samples of the main tracks) it sounds like a compilation album by various artists. I suppose it's unavoidable when you have some very distinctive vocalists singing different songs, but to me on first listen it sounds like Slash has written FOR each singer, rather then writing a Slash album and having guests.
Of course on the other side this could be a good thing when it comes to the Alice track. Could be really good as Slash should certainly understand what makes a good Alice song.

The review in CR calls the Alice song,a smart and funny duet with rocktastic chic Nicole Scheringer, propelled to a mule kicking frenzy by Flea and Steven Adler.

All I can say is that the single "By the Sword" is really catchy. It's been playing in my mind for two days now. Bit boring after a while

Si, now I can't recall where it was but there's a website with some explanations for each track and Slash does indeed explain that he wrote the songs with particular singers in mind.

Have listened to it in it's entirety now and think it's very average. The Alice track is quite fun and certainly well produced.... great vocal sound (much better than anything off ACAS in that sense). But nothing special at all.

To me it just sounds like a stop-gap album, something to keep him busy while either VR find another drug addict for a singer or he does the inevitable and kisses and makes up with Axl.

Baby Can't Drive is not on itunes tracklist for this release. Did it not make the final cut?
I don't know if the things I'm thinking are normal thoughts or not!

Also the other Slash threads on the forum, the albums section, and the store.

It's only on the special Slash Pack Classic Rock special edition as a bonus track.
