What about a Ballad only tour?
Well I don't think I'm the only person that likes some of Alice's ballads. In fact loads of them are AMAZING. Wouldn't it be great if he did some dates playing all these songs maybe even an acoustic set. What do you say??
Re: What about a Ballad only tour?
I wished he'd stopped after Only Women Bleed. We seem to get the obligatory ballad with each album. I say no to this.

Not sure if I'd be pumping my fist to a whack of ballads, but an addition of a few more ballads to the average setlist wouldn't be the worst thing ever.
If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...

I'd LOVE to hear Every Woman Has a Name live. I that song. Could fit in well with ACAS...killing all those women.
Hehe, I can see it now. Every Woman has a Name, leading into Salvation, as he's thinking about their identities and what he done and then....
Ah screw it. I AM the Spider!!!

Would the "Ballad of Dwight Fry" count?

Re: What about a Ballad only tour?
I like most of Alice's ballads as well, but I would be one hundred percent against that. Two or three ballads is the most, I would want to see in an Alice show or for that matter any hard rock show. Someone mentioned earlier about Alice having to put the obligatory ballad on each album. I agree with that. For example, the only glich on the Brutal Planet album (in my opinion) was "You Took It Like a Woman." It was obviously "Only Women Bleed Part 2" and I didn't think it fit with the rest of the album. On the other hand, ballads have worked quite well on some other Alice albums.
If Alice were going to do something unconventional, I would prefer him placing less emphasis on the hits and doing a few more obscure songs.

Uh... NO!!! A hard rock show should never be just ballads. It's an Alice Cooper show, not Barry Manilow!!!

an album compiling all the ballads would be cool...
beautiful flyaway
alma mater
mary ann
only women bleed
I never cry
you and me
love at your convienence
how you gonna see me now
only my heart talking
hell is living without you
die for you
it's me
take it like a woman
every woman has a name
be with you a while
six hours
killed by love
how's that? I'm not confidant about 'flyaway" and "alma mater",but they are softer songs,eh?

This is a great post/subject but for me it would a nightmare...in fact i had three terrible nightmares last night but this would be a 4th...arghh...trouble is with it being Alice I might just be tempted to go to see it (maybe if he included Lady is a tramp like in Good to See You Again etc stylie)... no not for me..hope I don't dream of this tonight
You are an individual, just like everybody else.

Re: What about a Ballad only tour?
It would be good, for a one off tv concert like unplugged, bbut a whole tour would be a bit much, i think there would be a lack of audience, because of teh lack of theatrics But some of the ballads are brilliant! I personally still love only women bleed, mary jane, and the ballad of jesse jane still has me in histerics!

While I sometimes listen to a load of Alice ballads at once if I'm in the mood, I'd much rather have something I can shake me fist at live.

Re: What about a Ballad only tour?
I'd love to hear It's Me live, but like Gorey, I like to be able to jump up and down and go mental a bit at shows - difficult to do with ballads. Without looking like a loon, that is.

Re: What about a Ballad only tour?
I think in an "unplugged" type of TV show it would be pretty awesome to see Alice, w/no makeup, sing that set list. I don't think it would go over well as a world tour, but damn I'd buy tickets if it did!
I LOVE alma mater.
