White Rats
Could someone please explain this picture to me ? And maybe what year it was taken.
It looks real cool...until you notice the White Rats on the jacket. Whats up with that ?

Re: White Rats
This picture is from 1972-1973 and the rats are stuffed rats which are attached to the clothing. The outfit just blends the different elements of Alice Cooper: horror, comedy and outrage. Those kind of outfits were part of the reason that Alice Cooper was considered so "outrageous" in those days and why he was one of the innovators with regards to the "look" for rock stars. It was also during this period when Alice Cooper wore torn clothing with safety pins, which was also before the punk rockers.daytripper wrote:Could someone please explain this picture to me ? Re: White Rats
Hehehe...wouldn't that just be part of the irony he was known for?.....He did hang with members of 'the rat pack', didn't he - in the 70's, I mean...?
He brought the past into the present, "bridged the gap" so to speak...
Seems to me: he needs to 'bridge the gap' again...but who's worthy?

Re: White Rats
I would have to dig out my old Circus mags, but I remember them mentioning the jacket and that Alice gave it to Neal. In this pic the sleeves look somewhat bunched, as it would have to be if it would fit the much taller Mr. Smith.
Re: White Rats
Indeed!!! I really think Alice is overlooked when it comes to innovation in the early 70's. He was the first with 'rattled' hair (as he puts it)...that became 'the scrunch' in the 80's. He developed 'a look' that still continues today in the hard rock community. And we all know here that ACG were the first glam band ever - NOT Bowie, NOT T-REX etc!!he was one of the innovators with regards to the "look" for rock stars. It was also during this period when Alice Cooper wore torn clothing with safety pins, which was also before the punk rockers.

I wonder what would have happened if Alice had worn that outfit while holding one of his snakes?!

Re: White Rats
Totally true! So many hard rockers have the rock star "look" that Alice Cooper really pioneered: Big (rattled) hair, eye liner, torn clothes, etc. Alice Cooper does NOT get the credit that's deserved....No question about it.Gunner wrote:Indeed!!! And switching now to Madonna, yes the woman who performed onstage with an electric chair, started a theatrical show with a big bed....(hmmm...now why do those things sound so familiar?)....well on her latest tour, I've noticed that she's taken to wearing tophats...methinks that woman is raiding Alice's closets too.....

I have to say that I just don't pay attention to Madonna at all, so to know the above is just so delectable! Thanks Glam!

I'm pretty sure I've seen a picture of Neal wearing it.

Re: White Rats
This picture really reporsents Alice ! I just LOVE it.
And Glam...if Alice had a snake on with the Jacket ...It would be death by fabric.

...Or the rats would simply be gone from the jacket and replaced with large holes instead!daytripper wrote:This picture really reporsents Alice ! I just LOVE it.
