I second what Si said, if indeed Jason has moved on (as RI's post would suggest). I had the pleasure of spending nearly every UK 2007 date in front of Jason and a truly fine job was done at all I witnessed, as well as the shows I was lucky enough to see across the pond. To coin a phrase, thanks for the memories! All the best!

Enjoyed Safety Dunce, and always keen to hear new (or new to me) music so will check out FFDP in due course.

Interesting. Also shows how little I know, I didn't realise that Keri and Ryan had played together.

I feel a bit bad about it sometimes, but when Alice is on stage I really don't have much attention for the others, I do try but hey...
And in any case I'm always on the other side of the stage which made it even harder to pay attention to Jason.

I'm not a musician so I can't judge the musicianship, all of the former band members always sounded great to me. I have to say that Ryan's look caught my attention he was so cool, loved the attitudes and all. Same with Keri but I've only seen him once live.

I've never met any of them so I wouldn't know about backstage "ambiance".

in my opinion, Jason never seemed "into" it like the other guys, and I wasnt a huge fan of his style. In other words, when I saw Jason I felt that impression he was in it soley for the paycheck...i mean im sure the other guys dont mind getting paid :p but he just didnt seem as into it as the rest of the band...kinda a "going through the motions" thing

There's a couple of youtube clips from the NAMM show (Jason's last?) up via Blabbermouth:

Hate to see him go...but everyone has a life and dreams to achieve.
I thank him for the time we had.

Here's the hand of Jason in Dubuque, Iowa. (I know, corny. But I thought it was kinda cool)

And here he is with Calico and half of me in Council Bluffs. Guess I should get someone else to take pictures from now on, huh?

I wish him all the best in whatever he decides to do

How great it would be to see Roxie rockin with the Coop again.

(but I'm afraid it's rather doubtable... :/ )

Hmmmm.......very interesting Jaded! Well, I for one, would be very happy if a certain guitar player currently residing in Sweden rejoined Alice's band. I thought Ryan Roxie had great chemistry in Alice's band. Also, he was extremely nice to all backstage.

I'll start lighting candles and tossing pennies into fountains and keeping my eyes peeled for shooting stars now.
If Roxie comes back I'll travel as far as I have to go to see the show....since Pittsburgh and Cleveland both seem to be blacklisted.

Since Coop apparently has more time available to make this selection than some previous ones, my hope is that he can be a bit more personally involved in the decision and selects someone he is comfortable writing the next CD with. I'd love a CD with just the touring band and a "live" sound that isn't overproduced and features the searing riffs and hooks the old ACG was known for. Writing in collaboration with his band would only help the already great live show.

What are the odds of Slash quiting smoking, taking up golf, and joining the band, LOL? Seriously, there must be a talented up and coming top gun out there who would fit like a glove.

aaaaaaaaaah! I was just coming here to post that JJ!
he has a grasp of coops music as we know, probably knows more than just "vengeance" off the new album already, gets along with everyone in the band, and would only help ticket sales.would egos get in the way? my gut tells me no.
call slash! don't even have him run through the set first! as mentioned above, gilby clarke would be intriguing too.love roxie, just seems to have too much going on though.this will be interesting.

I assume you aren`t suggesting Alice doesn`t choose his guitarists! I mean, that would be silly.
Besides we still don`t know for sure Jason can`t do the tour.

By all means.

Pete has that experience with earlier 'Alices' that would be a treat to see again. Good stage presence too, IMO.

I agree - Pete Friesen. I've emailed Alice on the show and made that request!

KANE ROBERTS!!!

For me Ryan Roxie is the best post ACG guitarist ever. He recaptured the magic of the The Coop classics like no other and also managed to add something fresh and new to them. I am not sad to see Jason Hook go like I wouldn`t be sad if Kerri Kelli went with him. I think they just "plays" the songs and nothing more.
For me the perfect pair would be Ryan and Eric Dover.
Ryan Roxie ia also a helluva guy, i have met him a couple of times and he is really down to earth.

Kane Robert as BDB suggests, I really hope not and it wouldn`t happen either so there is no need to worry. His playing style is way too heavy metal and Alice ain`t heavy metal.
