Alice on the OGWT
Now, most of you will be familiar with the clips of Alice Cooper performing on the very first 'Old Grey Whistle Test' (was a late night UK music show with emphasis on new acts) in 1971 (I think the Coopers were over for that Rainbow gig actually). In fact, there is an insurance advert running on UK TV at the moment which features a clip from it. Alice appeared again (a year or two later) on his own for just an interview with Bob Harris. Now then, my parents would not let me stay up to watch that (was about 8) and I was devastated, BUT I have never ever ever seen any clip from this interview other than the very brief one of Bob saying 'What will you do when you get home?' and Alice replying with 'Get drunk for one!!'. Does anybody here have any further information on this interview? It seems so incredibly obscure and yet it was a BBC interview at the very height of his popularity!? all I have heard from my folks was that he was very drunk, dirty and had designer ripped jeans WELL before punk!!

That's a vague question.

That's a rather pedantic response.That's a vague question.
OK, let me help you out with the brain teaser I have created;
When was that interview?
Has anyone seen it and can furnish us with more details on what was said?
Does the clip live in 'video land' somewhere?
Are people here actually aware of such an interview?
Is that better?

Actually, it isn't. There's all sorts of things you might have wanted to know, none of which are covered by the list you provided.
>OK, let me help you out with the brain teaser I have created;
I don't think I like your attitude, so hopefully, you'll forgive me for not answering your specific questions.

Straight forward question to me, but sorry can't help. Would love to see it though.

Does anybody else sense the irony in the fact that he dosn't like somebody else's attitude??
PS: Great use of the word "pedantic."

I wondered who'd be the first to say that. The big difference between my attitude and Gunner's, is that I'm not the one who is asking for information.

Gunner, to me it's quite clear: you'd like to know anything about this interview that you haven't already mentioned, right ?
Not that I'm of much help. I'm sure I've heard Alice say those words "get drunk for one" but I can't remember where, it might just have been an audio. If I remember later I'll let you know.
Andy, what's the problem ? If you don't like a question, why bother answering. If you have some useful info why not share it ?

Oh it's from that OGWT video interview for sure TodayMueller, I think it's on 'Prime Cuts' actually!?I'm sure I've heard Alice say those words "get drunk for one" but I can't remember where, it might just have been an audio.
I thought this would make for quite an interesting post, it's an elusive/illusive(?) clip it seems. Any info on it would be appreciated really.

Totally wrong. To begin with Gunner HADN'T "already mentioned" anything. That's why I asked for clarification. I can think of several questions he could have included in the list he eventually provided but didn't. Again, that's why I asked for clarification.

You seem to be having some difficulty understanding the posts in this thread. Go back and read them again. It's not that I didn't like what Gunner was asking - just that I didn't understand it. I could have given him various answers about that piece of footage but none would have been the answers to the questions he asked.
>If you have some useful info why not share it ?
I'd have been happy to, but Gunner ruined for himself and anyone else here who might have been interested.

Re: Alice on the OGWT
Right, Gunner. It was probably just the short clip from PC I remember.
Would be great to see the whole thing. It's probably stashed away somewhere in BBCs cellar.

Re: Alice on the OGWT
I have expected to see it on YouTube some day soon, but the interview remains forgotten and obscure for some reason. Maybe Alice wasn't coherent or something????Right, Gunner. It was probably just the short clip from PC I remember.

Re: Alice on the OGWT
The ONLY info I can find is that it happened on: 16/03/74

Re: Alice on the OGWT
I think I remember that interview Gunner(I'm a bit older than you) I got to see about 2 minutes before my Dad declared it was time for bed and switched the t.v. off ..........Too late Daddy, 60 seconds was all it took I was hooked !!!
I'm so scared your little head will come of in my hands
Re: Alice on the OGWT
Then I may have been really crazy and highly upsetting to you and said 'thanks for that info about his red and orange undies that day, but I have some daft questions; 'have you seen it?', 'Could you tell us what was said?'. 'Is it (or will it be) online somewhere?, 'Do you know why it is so obscure?'Really? What if I had provided some information but none of it was what you were after?
Re: Alice on the OGWT
Sorry, another brain teaser??I don't understand
