What Alice albums Are You Missing From Your Collection?

Post by cooperrocks » Thu Aug 28, 2008 8:59 pm

As a long time Alice fan, I have been fortunate to have always owned every studio album Alice has ever done, but for some of the newer fans are there Alice albums missing from your collection that you intend to someday buy? Even for the older fans, are there albums missing from your collection that you always intended to buy or perhaps have not purchased because you don't like that particular album?

I thought about this question because with all the reissues, some of the harder to find albums like Pretties For You can now be found in stores again.

Anything I say or write is my own personal opinion, no matter who agrees or disagrees with me.

I've owned all the studio albums (most more than once) but I'm currently missing PRETTIES FOR YOU, EASY ACTION, LACE AND WHISKEY and THE LAST TEMPTATION.

I have MUSCLE OF LOVE on cassette, but I don't count that.

Oh, and I'm expecting RAISE YOUR FIST AND YELL to turn up tomorrow!

On vinyl I'm missing Killer. I simply cannot find this record anywhere here. I could get it through ebay, but shipping would be too much methinks. If a few more years pass without finding it I may go the ebay route.
If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...

Just pick up the Box set and MCA's Prince of Darkness. They're the only thing with different content I believe.

I don't have Zipper on cd, but I own the vinyl. There's some missing on vinyl too, but none that I don't have either cd or lp. i'm surprised to know that killer on Lp is so hard to find, here in Brazil we have lot's of it, I have one that's sealed! Well, hope you can get it!
These good little shocks must be working I’m so happy now

I thought about this question because with all the reissues, some of the harder to find albums like Pretties For You can now be found in stores again .
Over time I have managed to acquire them all on cd. Partly because my collection started exclusively with Vinyl, and I ignored the cds' buying original vinyl from Pretties right up to and including The Last Temptation which was the last Alice vinyl I bought 'new' from the record store.

The big gaps in my collection are B**tle#$, Soundtracks and Compilations.

The Compilations are something of a "well if its' cheap enough I might get it" type
of style, but i guess I would have the tracks in one form or another already, so no real sweat there. I still went and bought The Beast of Alice Cooper on vinyl - just for the artwork really. But the Compilations list is long;-

Schooldays - Have pfy/ea on cd and vinyl
Hell and Back
Prince of Darkness
A Nice Nightmare
Freedom for Frankenstein
Super Hits
Monsters & Mascara - have 'Definitive'
The Essentials
Hell is Alice Cooper
He's Back
Poison (2 cd)
Legends (3cd)
Greatest Hits - not to be confused with the 'Original' ACG Greatest Hits, which I do have on vinyl and cd.

Soundtracks etc.

Shocker - neither LP or cd (but should this face look bovvered?) :8):
Songs in the Key of X
Avantasia
Unity
Sergeant Peppers' - have on vinyl and NTSC video only
Flash Fearless - have on vinyl only
Buthchering The Beatles
Rock School

One question I will throw out though.

Does anyone know EXACTLY how 'rare' - if rare is the word at all - the vinyl edition of 'Live at Whiskey a-Go-Go' is? I read somewhere (don't recall where now) that there were only something like 1500 produced, but I somehow find this hard to believe.

The reason I ask is because I have a vinyl copy, in 'mint' condition, which was not particularly expensive - purchased quite a while ago now tho' - although I have clean forgotten where I got it from.

I got all studio albums on CD, the two live albums and a copy of Freak Out.
On vinyl I'm only missing PFY, EA (but I do have School Days), TLT and Eyes.
I don't own any compilations on both CD and vinyl except School Days.

I'm "missing" Constictor and Raise Your Fist and Yell.....but I don't really miss them at all. ;)

But seriously folks, I'm not at all a completist. I've got what I like...including not one, not two, but three copies of Goes to Hell on vinyl (plus one on CD).
And I got the ACAS vinyl...opened the package but have not played it.
