My Dad and I went to see Tesla on Saturday, and for the drive (under an hour! woohoo!), I grabbed some CDs. Goes to Hell caught my eye as one I haven't listened to in a while--love MANY songs on it, but it's never grabbed me as an ALBUM--and Wake Me Gently is indeed a great song!

I just adore " I never wrote those songs " It has been a favorite for so long.
I just melt with his voice on that one .
" I never cry " and " You and Me " are two I sing to myself , just because they are so pretty.
I think " I could be with you awhile " is so true to life and offers hope. So that is also a favorite. And I gotta throw in " You're my temptation"

Wake me Gently sends chills up my spine every time i listen to it.

On the Whole, GTH is a great album. I think it gets overlooked becuase it followed WTMN.

I like It's Me also as it can tell the tale of either love gone wrong or God's forgiveness towards sinners.

That and there was no proper tour for the album maybe.

That too, it would have made for a great stage show.

I love Alice ballads, he writes great ballads and sings them beautifully. The only one I'm not so keen on is 'You and Me'; I find the lyrics a tad tacky and the production a bit too 'easy listening' rather than 'rock ballad'.

I was pushing for this to be the song at my wedding, but my wife wanted George Strait instead. Hers was more important to her than mine was to me... so we went with GS.

Would that be the 'original' You & Me.............or my upto date version in 'sickthings sing' ?? ;) :rotfl: :rotfl:

I may have to dig deep in the SINGS thread a re-read all of those beauties. Si Show (aka Sideshow) was my personal best, me thinks. ;)
