Breakfast with Alice

Post by Dragonlady » Fri Jul 04, 2008 2:00 pm

Well I don't know who turns the knobs there but the Robert Plant song played this morning was definetely not "All The Kings Horses" from Mighty Rearranger. It was one of his earlier songs.

ATKH is one of my favourite songs, it's so wonderful.

And if like Alice you haven't heard Plant's latest album with Alison Krauss I highly recommend it. Unless you only listen to heavy metal and such. It's a great trip into the swamps of Louisiana, bluegrass and a squirt of rock.
I adore it!

Yes T-Bone's presence was a big part of why this album is a success. I had never seen him T-Bone live before but he's just amazing! He's got such a presence, and not just because he's very tall!
Plant said that T-Bone was like the captain of this strange ship, and that's so true. I was also completely fascianted by the light show, At the same time subdued but with very bright colours, it was a real feast for the senses! I hope they tour the UK again later this year or next year. I saw them 3 times in May it was so great.

No I meant the Plant and Krauss album:
http://www.robertplantalisonkrauss.com/site.php
Click on the link at the top, the whole album is there and it didn't stop it from getting a Grammy or more :D

Daytripper, funny I never really got into that part of his career, I started again aroung "Manic Nirvana". From then on I couldn't let go anymore. I've seen Plant live 26 times! Check out this tour if you can!

Well, it's an easy mistake to make, we were talking of two things at the same time and my phrase was not as clear as it could have been.

I don't believe this. About a month ago I posted on the NWAC forums about a quote I wanted from the show. And just as I listen to today's show I notice how familiar the chit chat was. And sure enough there it was! My quote!
I'm afraid I'll have to replay the whole 1h and 16 minutes of the show to write down the full quote as I can't rewind it (unless someone here can help me?). But I must write this down and put it in my signature file!

Alice was talking about mental patients and how creative they are.. and the part I managed to write down went "most artistic people are mental patients..."
This is so exactly why I love Alice so much. Once I decided it was perfectly ok to be "mad" and that being an artist was really what I wanted it all made so much more sense.

I also like the quote: ""When we remember we are all mad, the mysteries disappear and life stands explained."--Mark Twain"

Isn't it weird how out of all replays they had to choose the one that I needed?

Is it just me or is Alice's email at BWAC not working anymore? My last attempt bounced.

My favourite Robert Plant solo song is the inspirational
'I Believe', aided by a truly great video.

Sorry for the double post. But it's so good to listen to all the silliness in that show after a day at work. Yesterday I was feeling a bit blue for some reason, but Alice sure cheered me up with his nonsense.
