Which makes me think what made you become a fan of Alice Cooper?

I became an Alice fan when someone lent me LITD way back when.

I was always weird. As a child onboard a flight, the stewardess asked if I wanted to be a stew when I grew up. I replied I wanted to be a mortician.

When I first saw Alice on 'Top of the Pops' - becoming a fan seemed the most natural thing in the world to me. I believe that was back in 1972.

My mate James got me into Alice, tho it took a while.... maybe even about a 2 year process of occasional exposure - James got a great passion for Alice and was always eager to show me footage / play songs.

Becoming more of a serious Alice fan rather than just a distant appreciation must have happened between 2001 and 2002.

Saw him in 2001 knowing only a few songs.
Saw him a year later knowing every lyric.

And of course since then, Alice introduced me to all sorts of other bands. (Aerosmith, Slash's Snakepit, Marilyn Manson) So he was my gateway to having a huge enjoyment for music and the whole Rock'n'Roll thing.

It was 1985 (?) when I was watching TV and I changed the channel and saw his picture w/ make up on the "700 Club" w/ Pat Robertson...he was talking about these evil rock stars and they were devil worshipers (haha)...they were showing photos of him and read the lyrics to "Go to Hell" i thought they were cool lyrics so the next day I went out to find the (back then--a cassette tape) but i didn't find it I found "Welcome to my Nightmare" and I was hooked ever since, right after that "Constrictor" came out and before you knew it I was watching him live at "NcNichols" Arena in Denver on the Nightmare Returns tour!!! And I have been in love ever since!!!

it was late 2005, when i bought this 70's chronicles cd (i think) and elected was on it, (its also how i got into hendrix, weirdly voodoo chile was on it, even though its 69) then i saw the alice cooper greatest hits cd (the 1974 one) and bought it becuas eit was going cheap (£3) and loved it then bought trashes the world dvd and then brutally live dvd then DD then killer and so on, becoming a bigger alice fan by the second!

Well for me it was in 1991, watching TV. There was an interview with Alice and I was instantly hooked! I was in Uni at the time and the previous year I had gone through a bad depression.
Seeing Alice opened my eyes! I started to realise that I was not as insane as I thought or rather that I was, but that it was ok? Er, you know what I mean! All of a sudden life made more sense to me.

Ever since that day I always repeat that Alice is, my hero and my role-model. I am older now and these days of doubt are way behind me, thankfully, but I will always stay a fan. I am kind of the age Alice was when I discovered him (does that make sense?) and I do my best to pass on the flame to young people who remind me of myself back then?

Remember? The brain is the first thing to go It was 17 years ago!
I assume it had to do with "Hey Stoopid" coming out and promoting it. What I remember is that I loved the fact that Alice is a normal guy in everyday life, but uses his imagination for a living.
Until then I had always been told that imagination was a bad thing (well thank goodness for a mum and a Gran who told me otherwise) and I was sure you'd have to give up all your dreams growing up! No wonder I was a mess!
And there was this man telling me otherwise, I suddenly felt like my life was not over yet. And I sure was right!

All my life I tired to keep my imagination alive, and I am partly making a living with it now as an illustrator, which is so great.

My motto is : "Dragons are my life, Imagination is the word"

1986, seeing He's Back (The Man Behind The Mask) video on Much Music. Two of my favorite loves back then as a teen were horror movies and heavy metal. I got both with the vid and I became an instant fan.

Christmas 2005 when mum asked for WTMN on cd. She told me I should listen to it cos I'd like the lyrics. Then I had to get all the albums, I was hooked! And still am

I first saw Alice on The Midnight Special in the 70's. I fell in love with his humor and stage ability. Oh ....and he was really cute. I was maybe 12. I had heard some music from Love it to death and Killer..because my older brother had the albums. But it wasnt until Welcome To My Nightmare came out , that I actually started buying albums. That was the first..I was hooked and started buying all the older ones.
I know I was born to be a fan. Because it seams like I always have been....for 35 years anyway. And not a day goes by that I dont wonder what city he is in playing a concert or playing golf.

In early '72 a nephew was sent to stay with my family for awhile. His parents were having problems with him and wanted to see if my parents could help straighten him out. He brought LITD and Killer albums with him. I fell in love with the music, to both mine and his parents disgust. Maybe him listening to Alice was one of things they couldn't handle?

I became a fan just prior to From The Inside being released. I dont actually recall why or how I became an Alice fan. I was much more into Kiss at that time. Might have something to do with the makeup ( ? ) But once I got hooked I was in !!

I remember looking through all my sisters albums in the '70's and the only ones that had cool covers (killer,schools out,b$b,WTMN) were coops.....and then I spun that beautiful vinyl.......ahhhhhhhh yes.hooked so hard!

When I was a street musician I used to play loads of Alice songs including 'Dead Babies', I got some horrified looks !

Which reminds me of the story John Lydon tells of when him and Sid Vicious did 'I Love The Dead' busking in London.

I love that story.In fact,i love that whole box set booklet!
