Alice Cooper concert for the homeless

Post by steven_crayn » Tue Jul 01, 2008 9:58 am

There is a poster from 1974 about a concert with Alice and Black Sabbath scheduled for Aug 15th in Central Park, New York for the homeless, though Alice never played this.

Anyone know anything more about this?

The poster can be seen at

Lead guitar on Social Debris. Album on iTunes, Amazon & Spotify, title track featured on TV

As far as I could find it never happened. The poster is a fake.

Some really great old posters on there though!

Of particular interest, supporting Frank Zappa (1968), and supporting Led Zeppelin (1969) amongst many other gems!

Nice link, thanks.

I would guess it's a fake just by looking at it, as the Alice photo seems to be one of a much later era than what the poster is advertising. It looks similar to a line of other "posters" I've seen before which are fake including an Alice one. The "School's Out" 1972 Concert Poster featuring a photo of Alice from the 1980s comes to mind.

Another reason to be suspicious that it's a fake: People didn't talk about the "homeless" or do benefits on their behalf back in the 70s. The cause of the "homeless" only became an issue in the last twenty years.
