Great find and great footage. I was surprised to hear the announced attendance. Less than 3 weeks prior to this was my first show. Thanks Dev.

wasn't it an asthma attack that was the actual reason he couldn't perform? as bad as that crowd behaved, toledo '73 must be the worst!

What I notice is just how much younger the audience was for a rock show back in 1980 than it is today! If you look at the crowd in the 1980 clips, most of them look like they are under 25 years old. And you don't see a lot of people over 30. Nowadays, it has totally reversed. Most of the audience are over 30 with many people in their 40s and the people under 25 years old are in the minority.

maybe its because its only the older people who go and see him now as he does not rech a younger audience?

I wasn't just talking about Alice Cooper shows. I said "rock shows". It is pretty much like that for many classic rock shows. The rock n roll generation of the 70s has grown up and still goes to shows is why. And I think Alice does reach a younger audience as I've seen many young fans at Alice's shows.

I totally think Alice does reach a younger audience. I've seen lots of children/teens/early20s at his shows. And they all seem to be having a good time! I actually get a lot of kids at school coming to me saying they heard his radio show and really liked it, and that they're listening more.

And heck...I *am* part of the younger audience he's reaching! A live DD show made me a fan, and I was 23!

And the reasons I went.....it was free (birthday gift from my dad), Cheap Trick was opening, and ...the deciding factor--I caught a few minutes of NWAC and heard him play Dirty Diamonds and Steal that Car. Figured I might not totally hate the show.
