Did this gig definitely happen? I've seen it listed in a few places, including on Si's excellent timelines on here, but I don't think I've ever seen conclusive proof.
It always seemed weird to me that he and the band would have stuck around for eight days to play one more gig on the tour, complete with having to ship them and the gear back over to mainland Europe.
I guess they probably recorded the For Britain Only single in London over some of those eight days, but it still seems like strange logistics.

I agree that it's odd, but I suppose it all depends on how much they were getting paid to do it.VinceRaven wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 10:11 amI guess they probably recorded the For Britain Only single in London over some of those eight days, but it still seems like strange logistics.
They certainly returned to London before it, as Alice was on 'Riverside' - and yes they likely recorded FBO as well.
Unfortunately French newspapers archives are generally unavailable outside the local libraries, or are paywalled so that, and the language barrier, means I've never found anything beyond that one advert to confirm it I think.
If anyone can find a review or preview to confirm it happened I'll add it to the timeline.

That's exactly the same image that's already on the timeline page!mestreech wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 4:29 pmhttps://dangerousminds.net/content/uplo ... 59_int.jpg
This is the best I can find for now.

Of course, it is quite possible that the 8 day gap in dates could be accounted for with a holiday of sorts.
It is also possible that with Alice’s “state” at the time that the gap was due to a medical / physical reason.

Both would be personal in nature and thus not recorded in the “official” timeline of music related events.

How would they know how Alice would feel on a specific day/week months ahead when the tour was booked and advertised?ReGorLaTroy wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 8:17 pmIt is also possible that with Alice’s “state” at the time that the gap was due to a medical / physical reason.
Just a week before he had been doing up to three nights in a row.

True, I hadn’t thought of that.Si wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 8:20 pmHow would they know how Alice would feel on a specific day/week months ahead when the tour was booked and advertised?ReGorLaTroy wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 8:17 pmIt is also possible that with Alice’s “state” at the time that the gap was due to a medical / physical reason.

Therefore, I fall back on my first thought of a pre planned holiday.
