I refused to see him with Nita, because it was a gimmick.

That’s kind of a shame, you missed out on a great addition, in my opinion.

I think the “Woman of Mass Distraction” added a breath of fresh air to the shows.

The audiences at the shows I’ve seen really seemed to respond well to her presence.

Great player, great performer and tons of positive energy.

I think when she first joined, he was ending the show with 60's garage rock covers, and I didn't like that also. The last time I saw him before this tour was 2012.

Nita was a great fit for the band IMO. And yes, she is good looking, but her stage presence wasn't more sexualised than Ryan, Chuck or Tommys.

Alice has said a lot of non-sensical things over the years. Just a fitting example out of many many choices - if he could pick one guitar player for his toursm he has said it would be anything from Richie Sambora ti Jeff Beck (repeatedly) and even Johnny Depp etc. Many many others, of course. Alice is a showman. Saying Nita looks like a model is part of the show itself as well as marketing the show.

Nita is a world famous talent with guitar and well deservedly so, in far wider circles than Alice and his following. You are entitled to your opinion to not like her. But to call her gimmick or not much of a player is either misinformed or dishonest. She is a hell of player and one of the very best that Alice has ever toured with. Ever. To not like her or to not like her style of playing is one thing but, to write her off as a pretty girl or a gimmick is simply uncalled-for.

The actual full quote (that I found) was: "she looks like a Victoria’s Secret model and plays like Eddie Van Halen! It is really hard to beat that combination, and she’s a great kid."
So yes, he said she was good looking, but also that she was a great guitarist in his opinion.

Compare with what he said now when Kane joined the tour: "We've been friends all this time, and he's always been one of my favorite guitarists. He's bringing more muscle to the 'Detroit Muscle' tour."
So also mentioning both his body and his guitarplaying. But that is not a gimmick?

And also, Alice's said plenty of things in interviews just to make good soundbites - how was Nitas presence in the show itself just a gimmick or sex appeal?
There's literally a tatooed barechested man on stage every night but the fully clothed woman is just sex appeal?

I'm just catching up and reading some of these comments and i am shocked to see someone say nita is a gimmick hire. She is a tremendous talent. She also injected a level of enthusiasm and verve that was missing from the band for a good 4 or 5 years in my opinion.
I was watching the hellfest 2022 show and she is still a force to be reckoned with full of energy and giving the songs brilliant intricate playing even after years in the band.
Chuck always shows a bit of skin (and indeed a bit of arse crack too!) and no one complains, Nita on the other hand is not over sexualised at all, she is just a good looking woman who wears essentially the same outfit as the boys (as already mention to the point she wears more than the boys!)
I love Kane Roberts and the guy is still a beast, but Alice openly says that part of his appeal was his ridiculous muscle look. But at the end of the day nita and kane both stuck around due to their playing.

Speaking of tickets, if the stories i'm readng about Ticketb***ard's dynamic pricing are to be believed, i don't think i'll be going to another show. hopefully more artists will start offering tickets themselves and only give whatever's left to sites like this.
