1st date of the fall tour 9/7/22 in Bethlehem, PA

Post by Rock10 » Thu Sep 08, 2022 4:13 am

I went to the show tonight. I liked it and mostly went to see Kane Roberts. Some of it is too predictable. I hadn't seen Alice in a while. I don't like that the setlist was the same as before and "Freedom" should have been played. Ryan Roxie also plays the second half of the "Teenage Frankenstein" solo. "Fallen in Love" should be dropped. He sings "Escape" a little differently live. I liked seeing them do "My Stars" and "Dead Babies" and the 3 songs from "Constrictor" and "Raise Your Fist and Yell."

Didn't they play House of Fire instead of Go Man Go?

Also: Fallen in Love is amazing, I'd prefer they drop House of Fire for Freedom. Give it Up would be amazing

House of Fire was in the last setlist, but I liked it.

I think it has no much sense to talk about minor setlist changes. My opinion is that in 2023 we need a completely new show. I know Alice can do it because he is in great form. I hope they do so and not give their whole energy on the new HV shows..

Any time there is a short leg of a tour then the likelihood of a stage setup and many set changes is unlikely. Since this is the continuation of a tour, outside of one or two song changes you aren't going to see much different and that applies to every band. For one thing, there is a cost involved in a new set design etc. I love the setlist over the last few years. As far as this leg of the tour with Kane back about the only thing I would like to see added is Freedom added to the setlist and maybe one more modern Alice tune but no real complaints.

As far as a new stage show goes I think that comes down to when the new album comes out.

He's been playing these songs for a few years.

Give it some time, they're not going to handcuff Kane. Let him get used to the set.
I'm sure his input will be considered.

Kane was a bit loose but he still has it. The guy is still a beast - just needs to tighten up a little (nothing a few gigs wont cure - he hasn't played live in a professional capacity for years after all) but i must say, when he hit it (and from what i saw he didnt miss much) he absolutely nailed it!
Can we also just mention how he looks for 60+ years old. haha unbelievable. Im 40 something and he looks better than i ever have hahahaha
I love nita but assuming kane can iron out the few niggles i would love to see him live and stick around. i know i am just being spoilt now (considering how great the current setlist is) but i would love to hear him do prince of darkness again.

But lets get the new album out ASAP and push a new tour!

a real fan-review, so it seems ! Thanks for posting it !
quite promising, but I don't expect much changes in the setlist. I had expected more songs from Detroit Stories ( it is called the Detroit Muscle tour..), Social Debris being one of my favourite songs from it, but unfortunately that has been dropped a while ago.
you really wouldn't understand..

It has to be said that Kane looks a bit nervous up there. I fully expect him to relax the more shows he plays. Must be pretty hard to be performing at shows of that magnitude after such a long time.

Having watched a lot of the videos that have surfaced with Kane, there is an improvement in his performance, it still does seem a little lost on stage, though it's clear the band have tried to encourage him.
Kane's playing style is very individual, but occasionally, he seems to stop playing after a lead solo, or at least it looks like that.
Thinking back to 86/87 Kane did spend a lot of those shows on a raised pedestal and less time at the front of the stage as I remember.
I am sure he will loosen up and find his place in the show!
I think they should drop the fire extinguisher guitar!

Have you seen the size of his arms and chest? I think that's the only way he can hold the guitar...

I thought he was good on stage the opening night. He was smiling.

He played well, he just looked incredibly nervous (and understandably so, as it's been many years). From more recent videos, you can already tell that he's more comfortable now.

Stage fright is a tangible thing! I can only imagine going back to performing in an Alice Cooper concert after literally decades of relative inactivity. Go, man, go.

100% agree, great comment. Kane is a beast and after so long not playing live it will take him time to settle. How many dates are they into the tour now? i havent seen anything recently, hoping he is smashing it though.
(i must say he is still more active than orianthi ever was!!!)
