Live At Montreaux
I picked up the Live at Montreaux DVD yesterday, after much deliberation. have to say it was a worthwhile purchase. Sure, there were no extras but the show was great IMO (although, I wish he didn't abridge some of the songs on the set but I guess time constraints dictated that).
It was also unusual to see him perform on such a brightly lit stage, as pointed out by Si in the review. All in all I give it a thumbs up. The CD is good too.

Well I am biased of course (like I said elsewhere I was there and I can be seen on the dvd..). I go to Montreux (please note the correct spelling ) almost every year and I usually see Alice in Pratteln (where he'll play in a few weeks now).
At first I thought it was an odd choice to invite Alice to Montreux, but recently they've been inviting more metal band and such so I guess it was natural. I much prefered this although I don't like Montreux as a town (too posh). The sound is a lot better there so it was a nice change.
Swiss crowds are fabulous they participate a lot but never push or pogo etc.. I love being able to actually seeing something as opposed to having to fight not to be crushed In Montreux, I admit I sometimes felt a bit silly to be among the only ones screaming and cheering, but some people there are not the usual crowd a fans and didn't know that it's part of the show
As for the dvd, I love it, and not just because it's "my concert", I like the sound better than BP, and I appreciate that you can see Alice better and his eyes and expressions, I just think it's cool to live the show from up close as if you'd be there.
Does that make sense? Sorry I had a long day

Well, DD was the first tour I ever saw..so to have a show from it on DVD is just awesome! Far as I'm concerned, my only "complaint" is a stoopid one.....I wish he didn't have that choker on his neck. Glad he lost it by the time he got to the US. But, seriously...that's pretty much my only "complaint" so.....come to think of it....school is OUT now for me (as of last Wednesday)....I might just have to give a certain DVD a spin in the player tonight!
Oh yeah....and to compare Damon Johnson in that DVD to the end of his Coop shows, or now....wow! Does he EVER look different!

Ok...so I'm not alone in that!!! Like I say...MINOR complaint, and it doesn't ruin my enjoyment of the DVD in the slightest. But when he first entered and we got a close-up, I thought "what is that? he didn't have that during the shows I saw!"
Oh...and the other thing I noticed....90% sure it was on Montreux.....was that I could hear the bass line on "18" better than I ever had before. Kinda cool, I thought.

I liked the choker when I saw him because he only wore it up to Be My Lover (I do think it looks good with the first costume but doesn't work at all with the others). I also think it didn't have any rhinestones when I saw him.

Don't worry it's a common mistake you see it all over the webVoodoo Revolution wrote:Dragonlady wrote:please note the correct spelling )
Will do
A lot of English speaking people don't hear the difference anyway.
Basically "eaux" = Oh
And "eux" = er (not quite but it's closer to the proper pronounciation)
