From the BURNING SHED website.

Chris Sutton

In Alice Cooper In The 1970s, Chris Sutton, explores the story of Alice Cooper the band and the solo performer from the early years through to the decadent end of the decade.

The book features interview material from key figures including Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway and Neal Smith from the original band, Prakash John from the solo years, and Ernie Cefalu, whose company Pacific Eye and Ear designed the album covers Several other musicians, concert promoters and even the band's first roadie have also contributed their thoughts.

Spotted this on Amazon. Do we know anything about this guy?
Is it just stuff that Si has already covered on this superb site?
Sounds interesting though and not outrageously expensive. I already have the books from Michael, Dennis and Golf Monster together with Dick's effort but any new perspectives might be worth a punt.

Chris is as a long time AC fan.
In all likelihood most info in ANY AC book is likely on this site in some form, but that doesn't mean different perspectives can't add new info.

I did mention this book was on the way on the news page late last year, but was waiting to more solid info before adding it to the books page, in case it never actually got published.

See amazon list 160 pages. No info of any photos included.
What I would really like to see is a book of every Alice Cooper album as they go track by track of each song. But not the authors view the person who wrote the song. I really like 'KISS Behind The Mask' book as they cover each song. Even 'The Who By Numbers' book goes over every song on every album. I guess Alice will have to skip over his new wave albums since he don't even remember the albums never mind the songs. LOL

You can always ask Dennis here about individual tracks. By the look of things you will get an answer too!

I've just ordered it from Hive for £10.49 including postage! That's the cheapest I'd seen and they donate money to a bookshop of your choice. Seems like a win-win to me. I'd never heard of them before, but decided I wanted to try avoiding Mr Amazon.

I have a copy and I’m enjoying it at the moment. There are a couple of mistakes and a few bit of info that I wasn’t aware of.

Really enjoying it. The book goes into the minutiae of each song, who played which solo and has lots of quotes from session musicians etc which gives it a very different tone to the other biographies. Also enticed me to go back and have another in depth listen to PFY and EA.

Same here! I've owned those albums for years and have tried a few times to get into them. I think I also made the mistake of lumping the 2 together as being the 'pre-Ezrin' albums. They are actually very different to each other and I think Easy Action is now well within my personal top 10 Alice albums.
I'm really enjoying the book. I think I'll re-read Michael and Dennis's books next.

+1 for really enjoying the book. Only up to Love It to Death track by track, and can't wait to get stuck into the classics.

As above, this also made me revisit Pretties for You, but only because I realised I could barely remember how some of the songs sounded.

It was a decent book but after the band split the information revealed falls off a cliff mostly focusing on the authors thoughts on the songs. Which to me was disappointing as go to hell up to from the inside was the aspects i wanted to learn about.

Got an email today from Amazon that it’s delayed with no definitive ship date. I’m in the US.

I love this book, there is so much information about the original bands work. I think that may be because there is far more history of the band as a collective unit than the solo albums in the seventies. I love Prettiesfor you, and Easy action which is in my opinion, the launch pad for Love it to death. I highly recommend this book.
