Alice As Herod
I watched the live broadcast of Jesus Christ Superstar and let's just say Alice still has it--BIG TIME!
What truly amazed me is what a presence he has--and what command! As soon as he appeared he stole the show. Also, it's my opinion that he held back a bit as if he gave it the full treatment he would have taken over that whole scene. He OWNED it anyways!
His entrance tonight took me back to his entrance on the Nightmare Returns Tour video. It had such power.
This appearance just raised his profile and I think it will be safe to say we will be seeing him in quite a few things in the future.
I wouldn't be surprised if JCS ends up being revived on Broadway after this tv special. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it includes Alice.

Re: Alice As Herod
Alice completely nailed it, and mic drop was a brilliant idea. Come on.. do your song, steal the show... and make it look sooo easy. Boom.

Here's video from NBC (I don't know if it's region blocked.)

Re: Alice As Herod
There were some other nice touches as well - the allusion to 'No More Mr. Nice Guy' with the cane at the start, the mention of 'Raise The Dead' (which, of course, was a previous tour/project), the black, giallo-esque gloves and Alice lapping up the applause at the end (all that was missing was "and playing the part of Herod tonight...me, yes me, you remember me!")

Re: Alice As Herod
Conveniently, the lines about healing cripples and raising from the dead have always been in Herod's song. They just play very well to Alice's character, props, etc!suziginajackson wrote:There were some other nice touches as well - the allusion to 'No More Mr.
Schooooooooooooool's Ouuuuuuuuuuuuut. FOR. EVER!
Re: Alice As Herod
To all those wannabes , how to steal a show in under 4 minutes ( priceless )
It must be true A_Michael said so
Re: Alice As Herod
Thought Alice did a great job but the staging/choreography was a bit stale (only seen Alice's number, haven't seen the rest of the show). The mic drop was beautiful, him adressing the crowd was great and loved when that dangerous scary look in his eyes that is so Alice started to show at just the right point in the song but I would have loved to see them use the stage and the dancers better during the song.
"You, sir, are a demented, sick, degenerate, barbaric, naughty freako."
Re: Alice As Herod
It was good but the whole choreography wasn't exactly exciting IMHO.
Re: Alice As Herod
I hope it gets released on BluRay//////

Move aside, mere drop of water - let the ocean pass.
Re: Alice As Herod
That was indeed cool. I also liked the racing lights behind him. Very reminiscent of the Billion Dollar stage. The crowd reaction got loud when he appeared. He stole the show, and he also got the only laugh of the night when he said "Wow."suziginajackson wrote:There were some other nice touches as well - the allusion to 'No More Mr. Nice Guy' with the cane at the start, the mention of 'Raise The Dead' (which, of course, was a previous tour/project), the black, giallo-esque gloves and Alice lapping up the applause at the end

According to an Amazon email last week it's been pushed back to the end of the month.Devon wrote:BTW, there will be an album released April 6th.
Interestingly an advert during the show said it was "out now" which would have been a real miracle considering the show wasn`t over! haha

Re: Alice As Herod
Alice absolutely stole the show. I would gladly give up the mermaid suit for the suit he wore.
If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...

Re: Alice As Herod
Also, the hand gesture in the end reminds me of the "we are not worthy" scene in Wayne's World, while the feathers on the dancers' costumes made me think of the chickens in Lace and Whiskey... am I the only one?suziginajackson wrote:There were some other nice touches as well - the allusion to 'No More Mr.
All in all, an amazing performance, and Alice's vocal was just phenomenal!

Yes, I did think poultry. So much has been said about the L&W tour, I've seen a Chicken Suit vid (Tonight Show, if I recall).Spot and Jerome wrote:Also, the hand gesture in the end reminds me of the "we are not worthy" scene in Wayne's World, while the feathers on the dancers' costumes made me think of the chickens in Lace and Whiskey... am I the only one?suziginajackson wrote:There were some other nice touches as well - the allusion to 'No More Mr.

Coop not only "Stole The Show" He "Milked It" w/High Five's (& one ring kissing) along the front row on exit! Also, The Hollywood Reporter posted a glowing review, the only negative was AC - ignore it!
