I have heard far worse covers than this. It's actually quite good and they even got Neal's drums down.

I bought Mutations several years ago and just about every cover on that is weird.

ARGH! I should have known based on their names, but some warning of just how wretched this is would have been nice!Paul wrote:Daphne & Celeste - School's Out

Yikes. Bought that single on a trip to London when I was still in school. Must have been 10-12 years ago. Listened to it only once, but it's still in my collection.

'Poison' has spawned it's share of dreadful covers - from tedious 'classic rock' versions to amateur choral society 'atrocities'.
THIS though isn't weird, just brilliant. I find it intensely moving. Perhaps they could offer Alice a few tips for his covers album!

Me too-really like the violin playing here.
Daphne and Celeste reminded me of The Spice Girls...
The Hugo Stassor cover was not bad at all-good playing of the main GB riff (the blond player looks a lot like Justin Hayward) and intrigued to hear more of the songs listed on the album, especially the Sweet one.
Scotty, I agree with you about the Pat Boone cover (whole album is out there), but feel "School's Out" by Krokus is the weirdest AC cover-so ham fisted, flailing and love how Marc gets the words wrong!

Ike and Tina Turner covered "Only Women Bleed" in 1975....different feel and interpretation.

Re: Weird Cover versions of Alice songs
This old man's acoustic version of 18 is the best.
That's weird.

Dreamwood - Shoe Salesman. Nice and pretty.

Hellsongs cover of "School's Out" is one of my favorite Alice Cooper covers, mostly because of how different it is.
The studio version isn't on youtube so enjoy this weird live performace:

Re: Weird Cover versions of Alice songs
I love the Hellsongs cover - sort of Swedish Tijuana Brass. All the versions posted so far, except for Daphne and Celeste, have been wonderful - weird or not. Much as I love Alice, I can't help feeling that something like this would make a much more interesting covers album than the actual forthcoming one. Hope I'm wrong.
