I’m not very enthusiastic about this. Alice can surprise people, as he did with his cover of Pretty Ballerina, but I suspect this will be a collection of fairly obvious songs from the usual suspects and it’s a fair bet it will be heavily weighted towards his stated influences of the British Invasion of the sixties. I’d expect Train Kept A Rollin’ to be in there in there and probably stuff like:
Rolling Stones – Brown Sugar or Start Me Up
Beatles – Back In The USSR
The Who – My Generation
The Doors – Break On Through
Pink Floyd – Another Brick In The Wall
Crazy World of Arthur Brown - Fire
Personally, I think he could cover those bands but still come up with more interesting choices such as:
Rolling Stones – All Over Now
The Beatles – Run For Your Life
The Who – The Seeker
The Kinks - I’m Not Like Everybody Else
And how about
The Stooges – Dirt
or even
Iggy Pop – Eat Or Be Eaten
If he’s doing Pink Floyd, hopefully it’d be an early Syd Barrett one and if he does The Doors, may as well do the line he takes the credit for coming up with and cover Roadhouse Blues.
In an ideal world Train Kept A Rollin’ would feature the original Alice Cooper group. The whole thing could be rounded off by the original group again covering……Fields of Regret. Since they apparently considered redoing it for Love It To Death and the general consensus that the first two (pre Ezrin) albums sound like a different band, it would be an amazing choice.
Whatever the track list, the important thing in my mind is that he doesn’t put together a collection of tunes that can be heard being covered in bars most weekends, but I think that’s what we might get.
for someone not enthusiastic about this project, you sure have lot of suggestions!

Re: What do you want to see Alice cover?
Actually that idea is more appealing to me then any other "covers" idea. Alice covering songs traditionaly considerd "bad", in his own tongue in cheek style, could be a hoot, and I wouldn`t be surprised if at least a few could be come mini-classics when given a humourous Cooper overhaul.RemarkablyInsincere wrote: Alice should shock everyone and do a covers album of embarrassingly bad songs.
Re: What do you want to see Alice cover?
One more track to add to my previous 10-Baby I Miss you. The recorded version of this BDB track sounds as if Alice is singing on it with Mike Bruce(sure he isnt)...and whilst meandering there is an excellent live version on youtube...by MB,DD, NS from chiller 2006..listed as Alice Cooper, BDB I think..haven't put link as not sure whether we are meant to now or not..that track sounds just right for a growly vocal
You are an individual, just like everybody else.

Re: What do you want to see Alice cover?
Joking about country aside, I would like to hear Alice do some jazzy/bluesy stuff. His own songs like Crazy Little Child and Blue Turk, along with songs like Welcome to My Nightmare and Last Man on Earth (whatever genre that would fit into) etc sound really good. If he could dig out some songs in that kind of vein, and give them an Alice twist, I, for one, would be happy.
Is someone calling me?
...No
I think I hear a voice

I would also like Tommy to produce this, as I am sure he will make it sound incredible!
Oh man.....if this existed, I would HAVE to buy it. Can you just envision all the music videos along the lines of "I Need a Man"? With Tommy and Coop's sense of humor, the voices Alice could bring to this, and Tommy's kick-ass producing...this would be hilarious in a good way!

Ha, ha, great!
A sheep themed one could be cool too:
Cover designed by our own "Sheep Man"
I agree with Si, I loved it when he covered Lady Gaga. Taking songs that no one would expect him to do and turning them into his own thing.
One of my very favourite covers ever is the version of "Because" that Alice did, the way his voice underlines the song is amazing. Personally I'd love to hear him cover all the bands that he liked as a young man, like the Beatles and the Yardbirds etc.

I'd like to hear Alice cover songs by Motorhead, Dio or even Black Sabbath. I'd also like him to record Born This Way as I really enjoyed his version of that lol.

Alice Does Alice EP was quite interesting . As it was cover songs of I his own work.
I would love to see that on CD or Vinyl. The itunes exclusive is a bit disapointing.
Many songs he could do. Should be fun Just a day or two in the studio i'd imagine. So it would take time from the Tour or next album.

I think 'Who are you?' by the who would be perfect for Alice's voice.

Anything by The Sex Pistols, he's got the John Lydon snarl, or should i say that the other way around. Paint It Black by The Stones as well.
Re: What do you want to see Alice cover?
Something from The Who, The Beatles or the Stones would be great.

Re: What do you want to see Alice cover?
I wouldn't mind him re-doing Seven & Seven Is again. But this time do it right. That song has never gotten the proper treatment sonically in my opinion. And Alice came up short the first time. Way short. imo.
