Reminds me, I just got Golf Monster as an audio book. Haven't gotten around to listen to it yet. I never buy audio books but this one is special since it's read by Alice himself.

Re: ACAS has disappeared from iTunes
Considering the music label which made ACAS, is now bankrupt, and ACAS is probably now no longer being manufactured, which explains why ACAS has disappeared from iTunes. Mystery solved, my dear Watson.

Re: ACAS has disappeared from iTunes
yeah, because itunes will only sell manufactured albums. geez.....
it's possible the album will pick up another label for distribution. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean that's the reason why it's not on itunes anymore, and you have no proof to back up your claim. not as simple as you think, gailsfriend. so please stop with the antics.

Re: ACAS has disappeared from iTunes
It really is not an antic. I am trying to be informative and humorous, that is all.
1) ACAS has disappeared from iTunes
2) Steamhammer filed for bankruptcy last year.
Granted, another label MAY pick up the album for distribution but, the physical format will not be the same....Eagle has done a lot of "2 for 1" re-releases of the past recent albums. Maybe the same for ACAS....
With iTunes, I am suspecting the changes have something to do with the disappearance. No label, no money, no availability...right? So, when the label and money show up, then, so will ACAS.

Re: ACAS has disappeared from iTunes
but you weren't talking about a physical format, you were talking about digital downloads.GailsFriend wrote:Granted, another label MAY pick up the album for distribution but, the physical format will not be the same....
oh really?? such as??GailsFriend wrote:Eagle has done a lot of "2 for 1" re-releases of the past recent albums.
uh....... again, it's a digital download. you make no sense at all. first of all, filing for bankruptcy does NOT mean all business will cease and products will be pulled. you obviously have no idea how bankruptcies work. so let's say a record company files for bankruptcy and has to stop manufacturing physical albums. does that mean they can no longer sell digital downloads????? and what do you mean 'no money'? are you implying that record companies PAY itunes to sell their music????GailsFriend wrote:With iTunes, I am suspecting the changes have something to do with the disappearance. now, you could be right about the company filing for bankruptcy and pulling all digital downloads, but you have NO proof and your logic is just plain silly.
again.... just plain silly.GailsFriend wrote:So, when the label and money show up, then, so will ACAS.
Re: ACAS has disappeared from iTunes
SPV GmbH (Steamhammer) has filed for bankruptcy but has not ceased functions. It is still going strong.
If the label did go completely under then the title will carry over to the parent company or the new investor.
They is probably another reason why the label has pulled the title from iTunes.

Re: ACAS has disappeared from iTunes
I am sorry Matt that I have made you so upset.
I am an old man ( I will be 40 this year), so I tend to always talk about albums in physical format. Because I remember when LP's would sometimes be available only as an import when US manufacturing had stopped, because of lack of demand. iTunes is merely a distribution company....a relationship by contract between Steamhammer and iTunes would have to be in place for iTunes to distribute ACAS in a digital format. When that contract is compromised, then so would the digital availability of ACAS and its digital bonus tracks, Shadow of Yourself and I'll Still Be There, which were exclusive to iTunes.
In your opinion, what would cause a compromise in the agreement between the entities, iTunes and Steamhammer?
If the financial stability of Steamhammer is compromised, what becomes of the vinyl pressings of ACAS? Do you think the physical vinyl album would still be available?
If the physical CD pressings of ACAS, cease to be manufactured because of the financial problems of Steamhammer, is it possible that Eagle may continue the availability in a "2 for 1" format like that of BP, DT, EOAC and DD?
Thankfully, to Amazon and Ebay, I am sure that the original pressings, CD and Vinyl will always be available to some degree, and for the right price.
Again, my apologies, for making you so upset.
Gailsfriend

That's not really important since the matter is being investigated.

Re: ACAS has disappeared from iTunes
who says that you have upset me?GailsFriend wrote:I am sorry Matt that I have made you so upset.
the problem is - you are so insistent on thinking it was spv's fault. while that may be true, you have no proof to back up such claim. so it would be more accurate to just state the album is no longer available, for whatever reason. and leave it at that.GailsFriend wrote:iTunes is merely a distribution company....a relationship by contract between Steamhammer and iTunes would have to be in place for iTunes to distribute ACAS in a digital format. as andy has stated, that is irrelevant at this point in time.GailsFriend wrote:In your opinion, what would cause a compromise in the agreement between the entities, iTunes and Steamhammer?
way too many variables to even guess.GailsFriend wrote:If the financial stability of Steamhammer is compromised, what becomes of the vinyl pressings of ACAS? Do you think the physical vinyl album would still be available?
can you show me an example of a '2 for 1' format distributed by eagle records?GailsFriend wrote:If the physical CD pressings of ACAS, cease to be manufactured because of the financial problems of Steamhammer, is it possible that Eagle may continue the availability in a "2 for 1" format like that of BP, DT, EOAC and DD?

Re: ACAS has disappeared from iTunes
You are the best and I really appreciate everything you do to make this site better. Thank you Matt. I could show you an example of the Eagle "2 for 1" cd reissues that are available but I am sure you know this site better than me, and probably found it already. Thanks again....
