Dada or RYFAY?

Re: Dada or RYFAY?
I would say that Alice was trying too hard to be on Jovi with Trash again IMHO. Trash, and Poison are the ONLY songs worth thier salt on that effort.

Re: Dada or RYFAY?
My choice would be DaDa. Better lyrics than RYFAY.
Thats what a good spider does...you trap....you kill....you eat
Re: Dada or RYFAY?
Dada first then. Already downloaded it, with RYFAY to be next.
I really appreciate your help. See, I don't know much of AC's 80s music. I have everything from the 70s, but after that, I'm missing 1980 through to when Trash came out (1989?) Then I have everything from Trash to ACAS. So thank you all for your opinions!

dada is a must, if you want to get inside alice's mind. RYFAY is a exelent album and was a breath of fresh air for alice at the time and had many long term alice fans ( probably listening to the fridy rock show with tommy vance) chomping at the bit. great times, buy both and enjoy a very wide insight into alices many tallents.
i'm guilty an i think i've been framed anyway

Da da for me. Its moody, tortured and highly atmospheric. Lots of humour in the mix too. Classic stuff.
...And personally, I don't care.

Hey, 'tortured' is a great way to describe Dada.
If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...
Re: Dada or RYFAY?
Dada. This album is the last true "drunkard" Alice album. It feels like you took Alice the character and set him on simmer. DaDa is the closest thing to taking a trip through Alice's brain.

Excellent!
After thinking about listening, I now have opening of "No Man's Land" totally stuck in my head!
"I got a job in Atlanta at a mall playin' Santa not because of any talent but because I was the only one the suit would fit!"

Re: Dada or RYFAY?
RYFAY anytime! I love Dada, but RYFAY is the best! I love Freedom, Prince Of Darkness, Roses On White Lace, Locke Me Up, Step On You, Gail, Chop, Chop, Chop, Not That Kind Of Love, Time To Kill, and Give The Radio Back. Wait I think that is all the songs on RYFAY, haha!!
Re: Dada or RYFAY?
Da Da has only one bad track: Fresh Blood ( Funky Alice ). RYFAY was Alice's second Heavy Metal album and almost stinks as bad as the cover.

Re: Dada or RYFAY?
I'd go with DaDa. I like both. I think the second half of RYFAY is the best material from the Constrictor/RYFAY period. I would have love to heard "Prince of Darkness" thrown in the Brutal Planet/Dragontown sets. I'd pick DaDa because its Alice working with Wagner & Ezrin.

NSP, thats a great line. Love it, very funny track. Someone should start a poll of Alices funniest songs.....I can't be bothered right now!
...And personally, I don't care.
Re: Dada or RYFAY?
this is my first post so welcome everyone, DADA is one of my all time favourite albums, so atmospheric, great lyrics, captures the twisted moody Alice before the slasher Alice of the mid-eighties, also is the album that is so out there that you are never quite sure what direction Alice is going to go in next. I hated RYFAY when it first came out and have hardly played it since so gave it another go to see if my opinion has mellowed over the (twenty odd) years, NO! great to be on the forum

Re: Dada or RYFAY?
Hi dadascott! I'm new here too. Welcome!
Ok, so far I'm *loving* Dada. Although the first 2 songs are going to have to grow on me. Love the music in them, just have to get ok with the vocals and/or lyrics. I love the rest of it though. Thanks again for helping me decide.
And it's a good thing I went with Dada first. I couldn't find RYFAY on iTunes!! Glad I can get it elsewhere. That's just so wrong of iTunes to not have it.

Re: Dada or RYFAY?
I'd put DaDa in my Alice top 10; perhaps even my top five. RYFAY would definitely be in my bottom 10, though I LOVE Gail!
