Re: "School's Out" - Limited Edition Audio Fidelity Gold CD!
Evan brought up before how on the original LITD CD, "Eighteen" suffered from tape noise.... well, I've noticed for years that KILLER has some tape noise in the left channel of "Be My Lover" at the 2-3 second mark of the song.
Again, this is not evident on the version of the song found on the "Life and Crimes" boxset.

Yeah, some modern CDs are heavily distorted as a result of volume. (example Metallica Death Magnetic)RemarkablyInsincere wrote:The disc is as loud as it should be given the way it was recorded. The only way to make it louder would be to compress it which is exactly what Hoffman won't do. That's also why most modern remasters have very little dynamic range. Turning it up louder does not hurt anything except your wrist.Dannorama wrote:However, the disc itself is not very loud. In order to get the desired bass response, I have to turn my stereo up much more than I was expecting to, which in turn results in shrill highs.
Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy was actually mastered lower to give it more dynamic range...that was the first thing I noticed on that disc, I had to turn it up louder than other new CDS

My copy arrived this morning.
Quick comparison with the original CD issue (playing booth versions on seperate players). Sounds a little bit more dynamic then the original but not hugely different. I don't have high end gear, just listening to it on headphones. A good replacement for my old CD but wouldn't say I'm blown away with the difference personally.
Did notive Grande Finale starts at a different point on the two CD's.
#283, no panties.

STUK doesn`t make anything when *I* buy from Amazon as I'm the account holder, although I do usually use Amazon anyway. This time I went with A-F because I heard about the panties and figured I would have more chance of getting them that way. I didn't

Yea, it turns out the panties were only given out to members of the AF Platinum Club as a sort of super special bonus.Si wrote:STUK doesn`t make anything when *I* buy from Amazon as I'm the account holder, although I do usually use Amazon anyway. When I ordered mine from amazon in Canada, it said 1 copy left - which I didn't think much of. Well when I revisited the site a few days later, sure enough they said "Out of Stock". So maybe try amazon US - last I looked they still had it available.mestreech wrote:Hi,

Still nothing. I'm fully expecting an email in a few weeks telling me that they can't get the item.

Yup... got the email this morning from Amazon saying that they're "still trying to get the item".
Better resign myself to the disappointment of missing out on this one.
