Double Albums

Hi Dennis
Did you guys ever consider a double set? I know you were very busy back then but I was wondering if it was something you might have liked to do had you had time and material. Or was it something that never entered your mind or that you wouldn’t have felt the need for?

I don't think our Warner Bros. contract allowed a double album. At the frequency of albums owed to them, we never had enough songs anyway. Plus, you could make a splash with one double album but two single albums equaled two splashes.

The ACG was recording and releasing about 2 albums per year and other Groups were only doing one album/year or in some cases one album every 2 years (i.e. The Who, LZ) around that time. So one could argue that the Original Group put out the equivalent of about a double album per year during the 1971 - '73 period.
