Generative AI

Post by ElectedPlus » Sat Feb 17, 2024 10:12 pm

Hi Dennis,

I'm interested to know, what are your thoughts on generative AI and how it's use (and potential future use) in music. Is it something that takes your interest, or something ultimately damaging to music? .. or something else entirely.

Thanks for any thoughts you can share!

Artistic expression should come from the heart but I'm sure that AI is here to stay.

I saw a few reviews the other day of Ace Frehley's new album and one of the reviews said the lyrics sounded like it came from AI. My first thought was, "Uh Oh."

To be fair, ace Frehley has never been a lyrical genius. i love him and i love most of his solo work (especially his mid/late 80s stuff) but "rock soldiers come and rock soldiers go" is hardly Shakespeare!
