Re: NME Magazine, Top 500 Albums Of All Time

For a couple of years back in the halcyon days of '72/'73, the NME dished out a few plaudits for AC - but all that changed with WTMN when Charles Shaar-Murray , I believe, sneered that the show should 'go straight to Vegas' and that it was 'Alice In Blunderland'. Re: Halloween show in Montgomery, AL

Drove all the way from Louisville, Ky with my mom and had a blast. The setlist was the same (seeing He's Back was phenomenal) and there were some cool stagepieces for Halloween (creepy clown masks, etc.). The best thing of the night was when the band came out for School's Out (Orianthi was already ...

Re: Stage moments

During the Nottingham show last year, somebody threw a bunch of roses on stage. He picked them up and smashed them against his knee, showering me and the other guys at the front with petals. Love it when he reacts like that to something unexpected landing in his 'space'. Nobody in his right mind wo...

Do you remember the color of the roses, Cherrypie... Were they white, pink or were they red, black?

God I hope not...

Glastonbury generally won't book what they perceive as a 'Heavy Metal' artist any more. There have been exceptions but they are few.
My sentiments exactly.....

Re: Your favorite HIGHLIGHT of Alice's career...

Yeah that was the holy grail, before the cd release & later the internet. I remember seeing a copy on the wall one day at my favourite used shop (Vortex recrods in toronto... still open!) in maybe 1988 and having them hold it for me while i ran off to borrow money from somebody. Getting my first copy of Pretties for You after searching for years. That album was taking on mythological proportions until then. Coukldn't listen to anything else for a couple of weeks after. YES! I'd been searching for this and Easy Action for what seemed like most of the 70's, when I discovered...

Re: Your biggest disappointment in Alice's career

ANYWAY ....................One of my biggest disappointments wasn't really about his career, it was simply that his determination to piss off parents worked so well, mine wouldn't let me go to see him in 1972/3. Also I wish the BDB tour had come here to the UK. And I was gutted when the original ba...
