Re: The Marketing of Alice Cooper

I am of two minds. 1. I am glad that we are not oversaturated, ala AC/DC Back in Black. 2. I am sad that we don't see ANYTHING to pick from besides the crap that we've seen for years. I have said before that I find the selection from the "Official Store" to be substandard. Here's hoping that someon...

Re: Slicker Than A Weasel

I guess I'm a bad fan. I had never heard of "Slicker..." until this thread. I checked it out on You Tube, and the performance is surprisingly good. The band members were unusual, so I had to look them up. Jefferson Kewley's guitar sounds remarkably good. I'd never heard of him until now. The things...

How did you both know that “Blue Turk” is the song that made me ask? Weirrrrrrd.

Glen's technique/style

Did Glen play his solos off the cuff - maybe playing by feel? Another way to ask - did he play the same thing repeatedly, or did it always come out different? It doesn't sound like he was winging it by any means, but his style of playing is tough to replicate.

Re: Would you visit an Alice Cooper avatar show ?

Simply, no. I have no interest in what the people creating these things think my experience should be. I think this Kiss thing will go over like a fart in church.

Re: The Lace and Whiskey Era

Since we are talking about that era, let's go back one album and discuss "Goes to Hell." This has always been W2MN to me. They even go as far as referencing Steven on the sleeve. Regardless, I think the album stands up pretty well. In the plus column, we have Alice doing some big vocal work, the in...

That is a book that I will never have. I'd be scared to touch it.

I bought the Trash hoodie also and it's pretty nice. i have had people stop me in the store wanting to know where they could get one.
This kind of goes with what I'm talking about. That Trash hoodie is completely sold out. I wonder why it's still listed with other stuff for sale? To rub it in?

Re: The Lace and Whiskey Era

This album has always been too much for me. Too much production, too many sounds, and Alice looked like he was channeling Randolph Mantooth . I remember joking with my friend Dave that they should have called it "Alice Cooper Goes to Hollywood." (I thought that was pretty clever for a 13 year old.)...

Re: The Alice Cooper Store

Seems like there was never a big change when the marketing/merchandise changed hands a while ago. Same old same old, as far as this discerning buyer is concerned. I have only ever paid for one thing through the official store, and it was not a stupid teddy bear. Hopefully, they are gearing up for s...

The Alice Cooper Store

Seems like they're unloading stuff, and not replenishing supplies. Sets my mind a-racing.

Hi Dennis. I hesitate to ask, because this is not band related, but here goes... Are you willing to share what you were doing when you learned about Kennedy's death? It's such a fascinating slice in time, and many people remember the exact moment they found out. My mom specifically remembered hangi...

You know what they should do? Put Mr. Barlow in. I'll bet big money that he'd be great.

Re: Hellfest 2022

Another grandpa here, although not as grumpy. (Well, maybe sometimes.) It has always irked me that these keyboard warriors are very loud when they’re protected by anonymity. My approach has only ever been, “don’t type anything that you wouldn’t say to their face.” Comedians who laugh at their own w...

Plus, why does everyone shoot the band from crowd level?
Presumably because if they were raised up the paying customers wouldn't be too happy seeing nothing but Cameras!
Another strong point. Were there elevated seats? I thought the crowd was all below the stage.

Brilliant blu ray, every second of Cons; festival set, “festival” camera coverage (many angels, not necessarily capturing the most important action Give us another one quickly please :) full set, and better directed :) Strong points. I thought also that it needed better/more planning. I imagine it ...

Re: YouTube views and Spotify Streams

We were in a bar on Saturday in Asheville, NC, and they were blasting a great Zeppelin mix. I asked the guy at the bar what we were listening to, and he pulled out his phone and said "it's just Spotify." A while later, he must have gotten sick of Zep, because the music changed to 80's - 90's rock s...

If they come anywhere near Charlotte, I'm in. I'll be in anyways, but I'd be EXTRA IN for an OG show.
