Re: "Only My Heart Talkin'"

I like Alice for his songs, not his stage show. When & where was the last time you saw AC & Co. "Live"? If not, then why the suggestion? 2012 opening for Iron Maiden. You said it wouldn't go with his show. That is why I said I like him for his music. I’m confused. Why do you want him to play it liv...

Re: Bob Ezrin, Before and After

My point is, I've worked with other great producers, and all of them are swift problem solvers, but the depth of Bob's musical abilities has always been exceptional. We had some similar situations and it’s great to have a producer who not only knows their stuff, is on the ball enough to spot things...

Re: Totally Random Question

Our situations were mostly verbal rudeness and occasionally threats. A few times there was shoving and altercations. There were the pickup chases out of town (Easy Rider). But most of the dangerous stuff came from a few crowd members when we were on stage. I wrote about some of those incidents in m...

I don't remember where I saw Easy Rider. Most likely in L.A. I didn't get the chance to meet any of those actors.
The film did depict threatening situations similar to what Alice Cooper ran into.
What about “The Wicker Man” ? Did Alice Cooper run into any threatening situations like that?

Totally Random Question

I was wondering Dennis if you guys went to see Enter The Dragon when it came out at the cinema in 73 and if so what your thoughts were at the time.

I always loved the violin at the end of Big Apple Dreaming and emailed Jack Douglas years ago as to its origin as it sounds like a classical piece. Jack said it was original piece.
I wonder Steve if it was based around “America” by Simon and Garfunkel.

Studio Amps

Hi Dennis,
Happy New Year!
I was wondering if you have much recollection of the types of amps you guys used in the studio. I’ve always loved the guitar and bass sounds on Love It To Death and Killer (actually all your lps had interesting tones) and would love to know more of how they were achieved.

Re: Canceled Tour

I too am only really interested in the business aspect regarding royalties, publishing, etc. Re. songs reverting to their author(s) after a certain amount of time has lapsed, I've read about this happening under certain circumstances; in others, the rights enter the public domain which has happened...

Re: What if...an alternate ACG reality

Pretties and Easy Action were recorded under contract to Bizarre who didn't want to spend any money on session time. Love It To Death not only had a decent budget via Warner Bros. but we had our very own rehearsal space, which made a world of difference. "Caught In A Dream" was recorded the way tha...

I don't think the band would have been as good without Ezrin.
Oh gosh no! I’m not suggesting that for a minute. My initial post was merely based on the question of what might have happened had he not been involved. It was purely based on hearing some of the songs in their earlier forms.

Re: Who I really am

Just like Saint and Sinner I’ve so far enjoyed the arrangements of the old songs he’s done on this. I’m only a little way through at the moment but I actually think an Alice album in this style would be really refreshing. It’s not corny campfire stuff and It’s not completely acoustic btw but when th...

LITD without Ezrin would be like cereal without milk. You would get the idea, but it wouldn't be anywhere near as good.
I get that, but I did find it interesting how far along some of the arrangements already were and how different they were to the Pretties and Easy Action stuff.

Love it To Death without Bob

I’m just listening to the Chicago underground gig from July 1970 and it’s interesting to hear the 3 LITD numbers before Bob Enron came on the scene. Now I’m not for the life of me suggesting the album would have been better without Bob, in fact , if it got made at all, it probably wouldn’t have been...
