Re: W2MN .. REVIEWED

It may be a large proportion. That does not mean I completely dislike those that you listed at all. Alice is a genius and it shines through in his work. Sometimes more brightly than others. "You seem to take a very scientific approach which seems restrictive" Not at all. The exact opposite of your t...

And thank you for reaffirming the small print on the credits.I needed my readers and a magnifying glass to see what was going on. Felt older than stone.

Re: W2MN .. REVIEWED

Production wise I prefered TEOAC and DD. A stripped down raw approach in the studio that transfers better when those songs are played in concert. I was not a huge fan of The Last Temptation or Dada. I acknowledge the briliance in the song writing but felt the recordings were on the cold side to me. ...

Re: W2MN .. REVIEWED

I just got it yesterday and I think it's fantastic. I think it weaves textures from the first nightmare into this one and is a brilliant release on it's own. The Underture blew me away. Especially the recognizable signature guitar sound of Steve and Dick. That gave me chills. I usually prefer singul...

Re: W2MN .. REVIEWED

Since when has being dead ever stopped anyone from making a comeback in the entertainment business ? I thought for sure they killed that damn shark the first time around in Jaws but with about 3 more movies about him, I may have been wrong and the last time I looked Jimi Hendrix was still dead but t...

Re: W2MN or G2H.

My thoughts too. But I think WTMN was such a iconic recording that naming the new one after it created a bigger stir and excitement in the music biz. And the bigger the buzz, the greater the chance to sell more units and make money.

Re: Alice on Jay Leno-Friday, Sep.9

I thougt the vocals were a little rough around the edges but the one and done TV performances are usually not the best way to judge a band. I like Orianthi. She has serious chops and will be a great addition to the live show. I too miss Keri but I also miss Ryan. Heck, I miss Mike Pinera too but tha...

Re: Orianthi as new guitarist

Glad to see Alice is keeping a third guitarist. It really has made the stage show more aggressive. Orianthi has some serious chops and is not just a piece of fluff for a visual effect. Not sure how long she plans to stay with the tour, but since she is from Australia it sort of makes sense for her t...

Re: Damon's Leaving

Glad I got to see them on the 25 in Northampton MA. Great show. The 3 guitar attack worked very well. Aggressive and beefed up sound to the songs. Hope they get another player to fill Damon's spot.

Speaking of opening acts, it seems that Alice is hooking up with Livan for some US dates in August. Seems they are from your side of the pond. No nothing about them over here. Are you familar with them ??

Livan is also opening up for him in Northampton MA where I will see him. Never heard of Livan but they seem Euro trash. Not that it's a bad thing.

Re: Lace and Whiskey

Bad album, bad video. Seems to me Alice did not want to be Alice at that point in his career. Maybe a alcohol haze was to blame or maybe when you chase what's popular and try to please everyone, you usually end up pleasing no one.

Re: Bob Dolin & Mike Marconi

I believe Mike Marconi still lives in the Rochester NY area. At least he was there about a year back. He use to be in a great hard rock band from there called Wale, who I use to go see back in the early 70's. I have a friend who bought his Marshall stack around 1980. It's a 100 watt head with the tw...

Northampton MA.

Almost fell over when I saw he is playing at the Calvin in August. Five minutes from my house. Northampton is a great little funky college town and live music is huge here.

Re: ACAS- your view now?

Not bad IMO but over produced. Dislike the influx of non band members. I think it would have been much better if it was stripped way down like TEOAC and I bet all of those songs would have come off much better if played live.
