I'm only speculating, but I think it's partly due to time. And partly because the festival has their rules. They never allowed any of the artists I saw there to use their own light show, which is often really disappointing. And the banners in the back would have been impossible to put as the festiva...

Well, that depends on many factors, But AVO sessions have sometimes made dvd's (http://www.avo.ch/en/merchandising) so you never know.
