Re: "Living and Touring with Alice Cooper"

Your attention please. I had forgotten I had a login for sickthings.UK. Greetings from across the pond. My name is Michael Allen. I wrote "Living and Touring with Alice Cooper and Other Stories". I just wanted to thank Si and all of you for the support you have given the book. In a word, it's been ...

Re: I'm Alice

Definite shades of The Last Temptation in there.

It also has some echoes of the blackout era, for me anyway.

I think it's quite promising.

Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023

I'll be very surprised if Magic Bus isn't the Who song.

All Over the World and Baby Please Don't Go could also be covers, although I think it's unlikely and suspect the latter might be one of the two "heartbreakers" Alice has said are on it.

Re: The new expanded KILLER and SCHOOL's OUT

Just listened through the new remasters. The sound on the live material is amazing. The 'Mar Y Sol' is a significant improvement on the bootleg version from a few years ago and the two shows, while obviously very similar in set list, are probably different enough to be worthwhile if there really is...

Re: School's Out (Expanded And Remastered Edition) 2CD set

Well I always am interested in previously unreleased ACG material, and I will likely get both Killer and SO expanded editions, but they never seem to be able to thread the needle. Always coming up a bit short. In the case Killer, they give us the previously available Mar Y Sol show and in SO case t...

Special Forces, Strasbourg 27th February 1982

Did this gig definitely happen? I've seen it listed in a few places, including on Si's excellent timelines on here, but I don't think I've ever seen conclusive proof. It always seemed weird to me that he and the band would have stuck around for eight days to play one more gig on the tour, complete w...

Re: "Living and Touring with Alice Cooper"

I think it's a great book. More of a personal journey (complete with love story) than a standard focus on the band, Mike tells plenty of interesting stories and can be very amusing with it. It was also a bit of a relief to find it wasn't littered with repetitive tales of sexual conquests, as so many...

Re: Alice Cooper Setlist/New Tour Comment

Like a lot of people, I regarded the covers section on the Raise the Dead tour as a waste of time but... I'd like to see him take the bones of that idea and play some rare songs. If it was flagged up in advance, that part of the show could be dropped into the middle, maybe just after halfway and use...

Re: Revival69: The Concert that Rocked the World

As far as I can see it's still only showing at film festivals and no wider release date has been announced. There is a mention of it being scheduled for Canadian TV at the beginning of January but it doesn't look like that happened. I also saw something about ShoutFactory securing the rights for a ...

Revival69: The Concert that Rocked the World

Have anybody on here seen the movie? I guess it's only a question for those in Canada. I'm incredibly impatient to see this film. Just watched a December interview in which Director Ron Chapman briefly mentions how amazing it is to have the Alice Cooper with Gene Vincent coverage. He also talks of i...

Decades - Chris Sutton's New Book on Alice in the 80s

Despite the appearance of a new Alice Cooper book seemingly being every few months now, I had assumed quite a few people have been looking forward to this one, so I'm slightly surprised nobody has commented on it yet. It's almost exactly the same length as the last one (the 70s) - 160 pages, plus 14...

Re: Original School's Out Packaging Question

Thanks for the speedy responses. I think that's a definite no then. I can't find the original reference, but I seem to recall somebody saying something about a stamp on the side, not the crotch, which would make more sense I would have thought. I've heard plenty of 'rare' album myths in my time. Oft...

Blue Coupe

Hey Dennis, Have there ever been any discussions about Blue Coupe joining a tour as opening act? Considering the pedigree of you and your bandmates, I would have thought plenty of artists would have been delighted, indeed honoured, to have you opening the show for them. Along the same lines, if some...

Original School's Out Packaging Question

Unlike me, unfortunately, I know a few people on here have or had the original School's Out album with panties. I've heard it mentioned that the original panties had an 'AC' stamp on them in a fancy font, but I've never noticed this in any of the photos. Can anybody satisfy my curiosity and let me i...

Re: Alice Cooper @ 75

I'm about two-thirds of the way through it and have to say it's an odd book really. I like the outer case a lot and there's no denying it's a chunky big book with some great photos. Going by the minor levels of repetition from featured subject to featured subject, it really feels like it's meant fo...

Holiday Show Found Footage

Hey Dennis, Any thoughts you can share with us on the (silent) found footage of the December 14, 1973 show? I know a lot of fans have been fascinated by the gigs you had to do with minimal stage set and props. A particular highlight for me is the Michael and Alice dancing with each other at about a ...
